When we heard the news Sunday morning we were in shock. We've just seen
Freddy Jr. a few weeks ago. Very sad. We were hoping that what we heard was
"wrong information", but further into the day all of Pulaski Wisconsin
heard about it. He will be missed......his musicianship was top-notch, and
was a fun-loving down to earth guy. I can only imagine what pain his family
is going through. All I can say is that my deepest sympathies go out to his
family & friends.

Yes, Freddy was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. I can't
believe this has happened. Not only was he a great musician and friend
but he did his best to get all of his non polka friends involved in
polkas. Whoever he brought in the field shared the same kind of
enthusiasm as he did. As his one friend Eric commented at
Polkabration,"I just can't get enough of this stuff!" He was hooked
thanks to Fred!!!
I'm sure we will always remember his crazy antics, his sense of humor
and his upbeat personality. He always wore a smile!!!! May he be
playing polkas in heaven!!!

Thanks, Matt, for that original post, and Steve, for following up so
quickly. You two have helped this forum achieve much of its potential,
that is, the widespread dissemination of important news to people of
similar interests, people who share common bonds.
Many times, as I told Matt, a friend will pass on, often from years ago or
far away, and , unfortunately, you find out about it too late to attend
services or send a card.

Freddie K. Jr. was taken from us Saturday evening in a tragic auto
accident. Once you met Freddie Jr., you had met a friend who lived life
fully and "seized the moment". Freddie K Jr. played trumpet with his
father's band (Freddie K.). He will be sorely missed by his many friends.

The wake for Freddie Jr. will be held at the Fucillo and Warren Funeral
Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Wednesday, July 30th.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9.
The funeral will assemble Thursday morning at 8:00 am, and proceed to Our
Lady of Czestochowa Church in South Plainfield, NJ for the service which ,
I believe, will start at 10:00.

Freddie K Jr. graduated from South Plainfield High School with high honors
in music, where he held the first chair for trumpet. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Dziuba have stepped forward, and are accepting donations to the Frederick
Z. Kendzierski Jr. Music Scholarship Foundation. The Foundation will award
a music scholarship to a student from South Plainfield High School in
Freddie Jr.'s memory.

Donations can be made to:
The Frederick Z. Kendzierski Music Scholarship Foundation
c/o Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dziuba
42 Lancaster Road
Freehold, NJ 07728

Junior, you will be missed by all your friends in the Chicago Push...

With much
love,

Rocky

Rocky,
Thanks for the follow-up information and complete details. Sad news of
this type is always difficult to report but, as you stated, the ability to
notify so many, so quickly allows us to offer condolences and sympathies
to the Kendzierski family.

I saw him at Polkabration a week ago too. In fact we (the Crusade band)
took him from Polkabration to Bayway on Sunday (the rest of the guys left
and he wanted to stick around) I jammed with him at Ocean Pizza, he
stayed the night with us in New London, he "guided" us to Bayway and to a
restaurant that "he takes TBC to" when they come to town. That was the
most I ever talked to him before. I found out what a classy person he
was. The news was shocking (the adjective might be overused regarding
this, but the most appropriate word to describe the feeling).

Well put, Joanie! Freddy Jr. was another example of our polka
future. His love for the music and for people made him a "standout."

Last night my husband and I went to the services held for Freddy Jr,
there wasnt a dry eye in the place, & there had to be several hundred
people there.
Freddy Jr lay there surrounded with flowers. (One was formed into a
trumpet) The place was FILLED to the MAX with still more waiting to come
in. just to say goodbye to their friend.
The greiving family asked all guests who have children to PLEASE Love your
children today because you never know if you will have a tomorrow.with
them.
I was most pleased when I saw band members from as far as Ohio to Mass.
TBC band members with their friends Flew in to pay their respects along
with TPM. Lenny Gomulka. Middlesex Express, Polka Family just to name a
few.

A dear friend was laid to rest today, but we know that GOD has called him
to play Horn with Marion Lush in Heaven.
We will miss him dearly.
