Certainly each of us, except for a few, live in cities or areas where
polka band exist or existed.

Name the city and the bands you know, knew, exist now or once existed.

ie:
Buffalo
Detroit
Scranton
Pittsburgh
Cleveland
Pulaski
St. Paul/Minneapolis

I think you get the idea...??

Simple answer to that. The initial post was just establishing an
explanation for the thread and not a definitive list of cities. <G>

Now,I'm sure we'll start repeating some names but that's not a
problem. Actually, this thread has worked out well offering many
names and many bands. (including some that many of us have forgotten)

What is unique here is the "input" from each of our polka locales.
Now. someone needs to create this listing in their website. Any
takers?

Hi Joe...You forgot to mention another band from the past, Joe Kosek's New
Yorkers.
I remember having some great gigs with the Revelaires in my eight years with
them, especially at the Hotel Broadalbin on Sunday afternoons from the week
after Labor Day until Memorial Day weekend. That gig lasted three years and
we had a great crowd of regulars and new faces too. There were fun times and
fun memories, no doubt. It's great to be back again after an eleven year
break. Tony's Polka Band gives me an opportunity to travel as never before
and it's great to work with and help a fine group of young musicians who
learn quickly and love what they are doing.

To this partial list, please add Polka Generations, Jimmy Mieszala, Tony Blazonczyk's band and the D-Street band ,as well as the following list of what are ( in my opinion and that of much of the polka world ) the greatest Chicago polka bands and artists of all times : Eddie Zima, Wesoly Stas, Ampolaires, Naturals, Marion Lush --and my ( and much of the polka world's) all-time favorite, LIL WALLY.
