Hi, Joe--this reminds me that I hope to send you the Ray Jay lyrics
soon---Since my summer vacation starts in a couple of days -- Re this
number, is it on line?---I think it might be a long number to the tune
of Kamien na Kamieniu ( Rocks and Stones ---Annoying to write out
because it's very wordy but I think I could do it --Wouldn't want to
write out the wrong one--I have a feeling that if it's that one, most
will avoid it because it's long, obscure and difficult ( altho if it's
"Pani mloda tancuje" , which sometimes has that title --there have
been discussions of that one and lyrics on alt . polkas in the past
and others and I put the words on = " The Bridal Dance" ---If it's the
one done by Eddie B , junior ( and originally by Louie) , if that's
you tube --and I think it is---that would make it a lot easier.
Best,Joe R

I don't know if anybody read my sad lament re how long this number
was, etc. ( now removed because it wasn't in the "polka spirit",haha).
Anyway, to summarize the issues , this song has a "mad" number of
verses, going on and on about the bride's ribbons, golden bangles,
etc. --- At about 2 AM, when I made the mistake of clicking on the
best online audio version I could find ( Happy Louie's version on
yahoo music --
You can listen there for free and it's clear, while the sound is
muffled on the EBV and EFO you tube versions) , I was frustrated
after filling up two pages with the stuff, rewinding a dozen times
( It goes very fast with no instrumental break between the verses, is
full of church language, strange descriptions, even "garble", I think,
etc.---and wouldn't want ( shudder) to spend any more time with it,
even now, on a free afternoon.
However, all is not lost : If you can use it, I rescued what I
think are the "best of" the 25 or so couplets ( verses ) on my sheet
from last night --The song could be played ok with these, I think,
although it wouldn't be quite as long or "wordy" as the original
( Instrumental fills or more "aj aj aj's" , like at the end , could be
used to fill it out more )---- or maybe assiduous soul ( or one of the
people who have these lyrics ---clearly somebody does , since they're
singing them) will help out . I am pretty sure that these lyrics don't
appear online --Wonder if they were originally in a Podgorski
songbook , maybe ---Some of the text gives the impression that this
"rendition" was probably written by somebody in the US , not in Poland
--maybe ( if not by Podgorski) by one of Happy Louie's original team
of "old country" songwriters and helpers ( Mimi Ordyna, etc.) ---and
maybe EFO got the words from EF's mentor, Louie . Anyway, here's my
"abridged" version---If anybody comes forward with the other 20 or so
verses, you should definitely offer to do for him what the groom is
asked to do in the last lines of this "masterpiece" :" Treat us all to
wine ! "(LOL)

W imie Ojca i Syna i ducha S'wietego, przymijcie nas mlodzi do
serca swojego.
S'piewac' by tu s'piewac' nie wiem tam co s'piewac' ---- Boga
nie obrazic' , ludzi nie pogniewac'.

Dwa serca zwiazane wstazeczka, zielona, juz'es' ty , Marysiu ,
Jasiowa, z'ona, .
Dwa serca zwiazane, klucz do nieba wziety
Nikt was nie rozlaczy , tylko sam Bo'g s'wiety.

Obejrzyj sie, Marys', na nasz polski kos'ciol , bos' tam
zostawila swo'j wianek wiecznos'cia, .
Obejrzyj sie, Marys', na te polskie dzwony, bos' tam zostawila
swo'j wianek myrtowy.

Nie placz , Marys' , nie placz , wianeczka nie z'aluj
Rzuc' wianek pod lawe, a Jasia pocaluj.
A ty, panie mlody, zafunduj nam wina ---jaj daj di di daj, daj ,
Jaj daj di di da da ! (^^)

If you look at the top of Joe Rodgers post of the Polish lyrics you'll see a line that says, "translate to English". If you cllick on it, google translator will give you the English words to the Polish Bride and Groom.
Hope that helps.

Thanks, John : That saves me a lot of work. I'd just note that, unfortunately, that translating machine isn't perfect: It gives the general idea, but , clearly, some of the words aren't in its data bank ---so , to understand the Pol. lyrics better, it's good to know that s'piewac' means to sing and (po) gniewac' means "to get angry/mad" ---so the lines with those words mean "Now we want to sing something for the occasion--but what can we sing that won't offend God and get people mad ?"
Also this ( like various other online translation devices ) makes some pretty wild mistakes sometimes : like at the end of these verses , where it mistranslates "Jaj daj daj daj da da" ( a tralala chorus, which means nothing more than that :tra la la ) as "EGGS DA DA DA , EGGS DADADA" !?! --LOL : somehow confusing the "Jaj" "tra la" syllable for the Polish word Jaje, which means eggs...^^
