wot???no sub captain christian tritsch???blaspheme!!!..and burton greenes
been playing out and about lately..
gong 2000 should be a band in the tradition of the classic electric gong
but playing new material..a start all over...interesting would be:
daevid , gilli, percy jones, pip pyle(try finding a busier rhythm section
than that!) didier, tim blake and stevie sharpstrings... a keyboard player
would free stevie up to just play guitar..if blake can't make it, mark
robsons hard to beat... lol coxhill would be fun but he's even more
eccentric than didier
with the good michael clare as tour mc
cheers
all my mistakes were once acts of genius

Daevid Allen-guitar, gliss guitar,vocals
Gilli Smyth-space whisper and poem
Didier Malherbe-sax, flute
John Moore (mice-elf)-guitar, vocals
Daniel Cowlin-bass, vocals
Don Preston-keyboards, synth, electronics
Graham Clarke-violin
Chad Stultz-drums
Ruth Underwood-percussion
John Moore (that's me), Daniel Cowlin, and Chad Stultz are from the
Detroit, Mi area, and you will notice some other Americans in this list.
I know Gong is an international (and beyond) musical collective, but i
have not really seen very many Americans involved (aside from NY Gong,
and Daevid's work with Mark Kramer).
Also, Don Preston is fantastic, I would not be suprised if he actually
HAS been involved in the Gong global family at one point or another.
I thinik this would be a wonderful pulling together of sorts, what with
folks from BOTH sides of the Atlantic.
Anyway, i suppose it's a pretty absurd idea to include Detroit unknowns,
but everyone involved was an unknown way back when.

P.S. Daevid!!! Come back to Detroit and listen to us, you'll love it!!!!
Daevid - g/v
Gilli - v
Pyle - d
Hopper - b
Malherbe - s/f
Blake - synths
(I was thrilled to hear that Hopper might join on the next Gong tour)
other GREAT lineups:
#1:
Miller
Pyle
Baker
Dean
Dvorak
Lemer
#2:
Hewins
Hopper
Maitra
#3:

Although Age reposted it, your request comes too late. The closing date
has passed and I gave all the responses in person to Daevid last night
at midnight on 25 Feb (Australian time).
DA gave me his new CD "Eat Me Baby I'm A Jelly Bean". Daevid tells me
if anyone already has this CD wth the B&W cover photo, you have a rarity
as it is being redone with new artwork and only 500 copies were made.
It's a very good album - the jazz playing is first rate and Daevid gets
his voice around the songs in his usual inimitable and unique way.
Ndugu's drums are worth the price of admission alone IMO.
Look out for a guest accordion player on the next Gong release
(possibly?). Daevid was mightily impressed by Saul Rose who was playing
the ol' squeezebox with Waterson:Carthy last night. Mark Robson and
Matt Ledgar of Kangaroo Moon played the support slot.
Cheers!
