Did you know that the nucleotide sequence of DNA can be converted into music? In 1986, the Japanese geneticist Susumu Ohno discovered DNA music by converting the nucleotide bases G, T, C, and A to the musical notes A, C, G, and D, respectively. This intriguing revelation led to the question: if DNA can be translated into music, can music, in turn, affect or change our DNA? Sound, as we now know, possesses mass and has the ability to move matter. By delving into the study of cymatics and exploring the potential effects of music on DNA, we can begin to uncover the possibility of utilizing music as a healing tool.

Here you can listen to coronavirus spike protein turned into music:

It's boring like a Pink Floyd outtake :)

Lots of Mu minor chords, I imagine.

And of course all that matters is what Ariana Grande thinks about it.

About releasing her DNA on the next album?

"About releasing her DNA on the next album?"

: )

I hear it's called "Epigenetic Expression".

Maybe, but music has a more direct effect on neuronal firings and possibly long-term changes in synapses.

That's above my pay grade. Maybe syncopa will chime in.

It is said that music activates/engages more parts of the brain than anything else. Is that what you mean?

I just meant that since all our experiences are mediated by neuronal firings, listening to music directly influences our neuronal firings. And repeated firings between two neurons reinforces the connection (synapse) between them. This is a more direct effect than the speculative epigenetical idea that listening to music "unlocks" certain genes which then enables the body to produce proteins based on those unlocked genes.

Let us not forget that learning to play an instrument is a great way to synchronize both hemispheres of the brain in addition to the auditory neuron stimulation :)

The Floyd connection is a nice touch...

Synchronicity?

I dunno but Pink Floyd seems to pop up in unexpected places lately.
