Not So Brilliant Deductions

Got tickets to see them in Greensburg PA.... quite pleased they are
coming to my area! I saw the original Lamb in Chicago both before the
album was released and then at the end of the tour-- the second one
they also played Watcher of the Skies along with Musical Box as the
encore.

check out TMB's video clips for the show - I know, for those of us who
missed the real thing, its as close as we will ever get - BUT- it seems a
bit iffy. I downloaded a concert they did from the "selling england" tour
and it is full of missed notes and other playing errors. kind of burst my
bubble and dampened my interest in TMB.

Someone who had seen the original SEBTP show recntly spoke that during the
opening WotS, TMB seemed a bit tight which was eerie since he recalls Genesis
being the same way. Hey, they claim to recreate the original experience. As to
the multiple musical mistakes, I have seen TMB six times now and did not see
that at all.

It sure is brilliant!
Saw them in Brussels last June. Night 1: Foxtrot and Night 2: Selling
England.
Hardly seen concerts that were that good. Hardly seen such an enthousiastic
crowd. We were flabbergasted and overwhelmed. Can-Utility and Firth of Fifth
LIVE. Strange! Never thought I would see "the old Genesis" live, being eight
years old when Peter left Genesis. But I saw, felt and shivered when
experiencing "Peter" sing, "Phil" doing the drumming, "Tony" play keys,
"Mike" play bass and "Steve" play guitars. Like we were part of a historical
event.
Gonna see them twice when they are in Holland next March. Can't wait.

Love the mistakes. Love the introductions by Peter. "along the pet shop that
was always closed to the park that was always open". Pure music, pure
theatical shows.

Yes, I saw the SEBTP (musical box) and it was actually a bit too
perfect! I wish they would try to imitate the Genesis live shows
(soundwise), rather than the albums. I dont mind the odd cock up, PG
is brilliant at them! I just got the encore Berlin and Bregenz shows
which I was lucky enough to attend. Thank god they did not edit
anything. Theres a great moment when PG mucks up HCTF, which he
describes in Anglo/German as "eine kleine FUCKUP" after a few seconds
he asks."fertig?" (ready?).......and starts the song again. Im not
sure many so called 'stars' could be quite so cool about mucking up in
front of thousands of fans.

I doubt many have the experience he does at messing up lyrics. I'm not sure
I've ever seen him do a concert (seen him about 30 times) without forgetting
the lyrics somewhere.

I've given up ages ago) to his official live output up until the
encores: 100% sung in the comfort of his very own cozy studio.

I think it is kind of fun to see him goof a lyric line and then smile. Better
than Jon Anderson (whom I adore) of Yes who reads off of a teleprompter.
