To settle an argument, how did the PSBs get their name?

From the official PSB website:

"To begin with they called themselves West End; later they came up with the
name Pet Shop Boys, a name derived from some friends who worked in a pet
shop in Ealing. "We thought it sounded like an English rap group"."
