* Tonight Tonight *
The Smashing Pumpkins
Someone with some sense on this board..
This is certainly one of the best songs that Pearl Jam has ever done.
this can be said because this song is also different form what they have
done. The song selection of the single is also apporpriate. They balance
each otehr out, it's like listening to W.M.A. and Animal. They are on the
same album, sung by the same artists, yet These songs are a balance of
the capabilites of this wonderful group. And all those who may complain
about "Eddie's Influence", well, I tell you what, go listen to Mother
Love Bone, and then listen to Bad Radio (old stuff of course) and then
consider whose Influenced who.... It is a collaboration, and all those
who disagee, please answer the question, why are they still together......
The Defiant One.

a bit of a peter pan complex maybe? see "all that's sacred comes from
youth". funny, you'd think he'd learn from his hero pete t., (you're
right, i can't spell it) about statements like that. think "hope i die
before i get old".

probably because music can be written from anyone's view. not
necessarily himself.

Yup, I think so. And Pete was much younger than EV when he wrote that,
so itÕs more understandable that he was a bit short-sighted. It was
already starting to embarrass him by the time he was the age Eddie is
now.

It is unnessary to read so far into the line, "speaking as a child of the
nineties." It is simply a line borrowed from the Mike Watt song, "Against
the Seventies."
Yes, but aren't we all children of the nineties, right now? Present Tense? ;)
Mirella :)
27, but I still can't see myself as a 'woman'... Petra Pan complex ;)

That phrase is a parody of Mike Watt saying "Speaking as a child of the
70's" In the song "Against the 70's" that Eddie sang on.
