No, Kurt wasn't yellow. He was sick. Mentally ill. I'm not trying to
insult him; I liked the guy. People just don't realize how totally and fully
being ill like he was can fuck you over. It isn't just depression: it's like
having your whole world drenched in dark, forbidding overtones. People say,
"But why didn't he get help?"

It's just not that easy. I don't know if therapy would have helped him;
maybe, maybe not. But consider how happy he should have been.. beautiful
wife, cute kid, fame, fortune, friends, and a great job doing something he
loved to do. Maybe comparing all that with how he felt will give you some idea
of how sick he was... do you really think you could have all that and still be
as depressed and angry as he was WITHOUT being slightly ill?

Don't glorify him. Don't revile him. He was just another guy (albeit a
famous one) who was confused and sick and angry and couldn't see another way
out. Either grieve for him, or for the loss of a truly incredible band, or
ignore it. There's no need to insult the dead. They sure as hell don't care
anymore, and it's not going to win you any friends, that's for sure.
