Best Western on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa might be a little
more expensive than Bethpage Motel. About the same distance.
Both neighborhoods are nice and very safe. Best Western
telephone number is 516-541-2000.

There's a cheap place called Bethpage Motel in Bethpage on
Hempstead Turnpike. It's about a 15 minute drive from Jones
Beach. Their phone number is 516-731-7000.

well i live in long island.....but the western part.....wantagh and the other areas are not bad...it's long island for
pete's sake..........just dont' think that you can sleep on the beach....some how you will end up getting sued.....don't
ask how.....

try newyorksidewalk.com and try to find hotels in the surrounding area of jones beach amphitheater.

hope that helps.....

I live in Wantagh, and the Jones Beach Hotel is a dive. I actually
think its a residential hotel, and not one that travelers would stay
in. It would be a total pain in the ass to find too. It's set back in
a residential area, way off a main road. The Best Western on Sunrise
Highway in Massapequa is probably your best bet. But it'll cost you
about $100 a night. There arent too many cheap hotels on Long Island
that arent holes in the wall. Most of the nice/decent places will cost
you.

The Bethpage Motel is a shithole. If you don't mind your walls shaking form
the humping that goes on in the two rooms adjacent to yours then go for it.
They do have waterbeds. It is around the block from me. The Bar Harbor Best
Western is good in Massapequa. That's about the closest. Good Luck!!

Might be a shithole but if you're looking to travel to New York
to see Pearl Jam on the cheap, it's your best bet. When I went
out to see the band in San Jose in 95 we slept in our car in
order to save cash. I was very broke. :( Wouldn't recommend
it.
