"Eddie Vedder's mother pawned he wedding ring to get him his balck Fender
Stratocaster guitar. It was a symbolic gesture because that wedding ring had
quite a lot to do with the Eddie the rest of us would know in front of Pearl
Jam. Karen Lee Vedder married Edward Louis Severson III when they discovered
they were expecting a child. After three years they divorced and Karen
resumed her relationship with her original boyfriend Peter Mueller. They
married and Peter agreed to raise Eddie Severson as his own son aand adopt
him. But that marriage also ended in divorce and Eddie blamed his adopted
father. It was only when his real father was close to the end of his life
that Eddie learned of the real story. Swapping that ring for the start of
his music career wth his mother's maiden name seems a fitting outcome."
That's funny, I always thought our Eddie was Edward Louis Severson III.
Wouldn't that make his father II? Maybe I'm mistaken.
