Is PJ only playing GA shows on this tour? I've seen them about 5 times
but never in a GA type of environment.

I thought the band stated they weren't going to play GA shows after
what happened at Rocksilde (sp?)?

I think some are seated?

I swear america must be different to the rest of the world.
Over here and most other places, you wouldn't dream of seeing a rock
band without GA.

They're playing mostly seated shows in the US, but GA in San
Francisisco... lucky me...

They're playing all GA in Europe except for one show... maybe...

That's what they said... I guess they got over it. Having bad memories
of seeing PJ at GA shows myself, getting squished, pushed, pinched,
kicked in the head, I'm wondering why they feel it's now okay to treat
their fans like that.

I had such great empathy and sympathy for them when they went through
the Roskilde thing.. I was in the first row in Melbourne 2003, when they
had the family of one of the victims in the pit area, and Ed sang LBC to
the sister with tears in his eyes. Seems my concern for them was
misplaced...

But you can cram a lot more people into an arena with GA than seated,
and that means more money...

Most rock shows I've attended in the last 10+ years have been GA, only
older bands seem to have seats on the floor nowadays.

Get over it. Roskilde wasn't their fault. I'm sure they still feel just as
terrible about what happened as they did before. It didn't happen at a PJ
show, it happened at a festival that was out of their control. Also, I
think the crowd is a bit different now. We're all older now and
crowdsurfing and such is mostly forbidden during most shows in Europe. And
GA shows can be a lot of fun. I'll never forget feeling like being in an
ocean of people during Baba O'Riley in Hamburg in 2000 and seeing smiling
faces around me everywhere I looked. I haven't heard anyone complaining
about the shows being GA in Europe. I guess everyone is used to those over
here.

Yeah, well, PJ *is* an older band...

I think it says something when they can't even sell out 14,000 GA
tickets in San Francisco....

Of course it wasn't their fault. But they did promise the grieving
family and fans that they would never play a GA show again where they
didn't have control over security. They broke that promise. I think
it's disrespectful and there is nothing to say it couldn't happen again.

And they've never experienced seeing PJ at a seated show where you have
your own space and can see a bit better, actually go to the restroom and
come back, don't get hurt, etc. There ain't no going back for me.

When and where exactly did they promise that?

In interviews. Closest I could find on a quick search was this:
http://www.fivehorizons.com/tour/index.shtml
"Complicating the South American situation now is the fact that the band
have been very vocal about the fact that after Roskilde, they will never
again play a show that has general admission seating; most, if not all,
shows of the size PJ would have to play in South America are GA."

I remember reading inverviews where they've said this.
