Sorry if this has already showed up, but I don't see the post I made
last night....

Perth
Another special show… yet sad because we all had to say goodbye!
The rockingest Habit I’ve ever heard!
We heard them soundchecking Throw Your Arms Around Me with the guy who
wrote it, but nothing prepared us for this version. Very different,
more like an Everly Bros song, with Ed and Mark singing harmony,
beautiful harmony, as though they’d practiced it a million times.
And if that weren’t enough, Fortunate Son with Johnny Marr… It was great
hearing PJ cover that song!
Met some locals behind us before the show started. They thought we were
from another planet… But afterwards, they understood why we follow this
band!
Wishlist was really good tonight.
Nice intro/improv to Habit.
Stoney bared his teeth (a smile?) twice in our direction…
Stone and Ed were playing off each other tonight… really good to see.
Boom had a little solo in ???
Ed talked about a local issue regarding saving a reef and the
surrounding area from development.
Lots of lyric changes tonight it seemed; couldn’t hear all of them, but
customization for the locals.
Sandwiched between TYAAM and Fortunate Son was Alive, which got most
people standing, and Ed cut Mike’s solo off by pointing to his wrist for
the time.
Security was very anal here, with concrete barriers halfway on the
floor, and 15 security guards to get through to our seats!
During DTE ??, Ed put on a Howard mask and did a nice crotch grab…

Johnny thanked our group 3 times, I think, during and after his set… I
think he really appreciated our support, being there, grooving to his
set every night, with the place half-empty.

I thought it was way better than the last concert (my first). I was so glad
everyone on the floor stood up for the duration. I really don't like the new
album much. I was hoping to be converted by hearing/watching them play the
new ones live. I wasn't. However, I loved that they played You Are even
though it's not the best song to play live. It's a pity they didn't include
more Binaural songs seeing as they didn't get to tour that album over here.
Would have liked to hear Light Years and Grievance.

Did anyone notice that Jeremy and Alive were a little on the slow side?

Perth embarrases me sometimes. We get a big band like PJ come to grace us
with their presence, and we don't give them the response deserving of them.
I'm referring to the general crowd participation. I felt so bad when Ed was
trying to get us to sing along, and no one would.

I hated seeing a few people around me sit down. Not to mention those in the
stands. Fuckin stand up! Bounce around! Get into it! Reminds me of the
Metallica concert I went to. Only managed tickets in the stands, stood up as
soon as they came out, then got tapped repeatedly on the shoulder to sit
down!

Maybe we're too laid back for our own good.

The Dome is partly to blame - it's hard to hear the rest of the crowd
singing along. But if you listen to the bootleg you'll realise there was
more than you may have thought.

Well, I could tell when people were cheering and singing.... it was always
at the beginning and end of the song.

The dome is a little echo'y. I listened to the bootlegs, still didn't sound
like there was a l ot of crowd noise. Less than I expected in fact...
Although I didn't bother listening to all the songs.
