Saw it last night and I really liked the dreamy style Steven Soderberg (the
director) gave it. Stamp is great fun to watch as the quinticential
Englishman in big bad L.A. Any thoughts ?

Terrance Stamp was great in that movie. I think it might have been the best
movie to have come out the past couple of years, except for, of course, Almost
Famous.

I really don't see what all the hype is about. I saw Almost Famous
and I thought it was luckluster (to put it very nicely). I'm still
trying to figure out why everyone loved it so much.

I really enjoyed this movie also. If you have the DVD, be sure to listen to
the commentary -- it's one of the best I've heard and gives a lot of
background info. Stamp was excellent -- as was the rest of the cast. I
loved all the twists and turns along the way leading up to the ending.

Besides, everybody knows the best film of the past year or so was "O
Brother Where Art Thou." I had never seen anything by the Coen
Brothers before, and now I am going to try to rent all of their
movies. I watched Barton Fink last week, and I loved it too.

Oh definately, the Big Lebowski is by far my favorite Coen film, it is
soo much better than Almost Famous, which I did like but it wasn't
anything special.

The Coen brothers' films are incredible. I can't wait to see "O
Brother". Incidentally Barton Fink was the one that got me aquainted
with (and hooked to) their films :) You should go to your local
videostore and rent The Big Lebowski, Fargo and Millers Crossing. You
won't be dissapointed.

I plan on listening to the audio-commentary tonight. Should indeed be
interesting.

I just rented it Sat. nite. The commentary tracks are some of the best I've
heard. The director and writer don't see eye to eye. Real interesting, and
a good movie.

They've never made a bad film. All must-sees IMHO.

Aha...now that could be interesting indeed. I plan on checking it out
tonight. Are they both on the commentary-track, discussing the film in
*real-time" ? I'm asking this because sometimes a commentary-track can
have 2 people discussing the film but both were recorded separately
("Analyse This" comes to mind). Can be very anoying. Anyways...I guess
I'll find out tonight.

O Brother was a damn good movie as well. Check out The Big Lebowski or Blood
Simple, they're both very good Coen bros films. But I stand by my pick of
Almost Famous, and if you don't like it who cares, people like what they like.

Personally, I haven't seen Almost Famous... Everytime I went to the
movies I was with somebody who for some reason wanted to avoid it.
I'll rent it soon though... I am back at home from school and I don't
know anybody here, so I have nothing but time (until I get a job that
is).
