Hey all... In the movie Dogma, towards the end when Alanis Morisette
heals the last Psion, Alan Rickman says, "She can rebuild you. She has
the technology."

What is this quote form originally? I wouldn't have thought of it
except I saw some ad on today that had it in it, too.

Kevin smith's movies are filled with pop-culture references, which is
pretty kick ass. I still cant get enough of that superman conversation in
mallrats....

Mallrats is definately an underated comedy. The DVD commentary part is just
as funny, I can't believe some of the stuff they said on there.

Be looking for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. There is a trailer you can
download of it. It's the last Jay and Silent Bob movie. It's gonna have
just about every character from all the movies so far. Ben Affleck is
playing both is Mallrats and Chasing Amy role as well is Jason Lee (who
rocks). And Matt Damon is in it playing a character named "Will" (wink
wink). Anyway, keep an eye out for it.

Kevin Smith *claims* that it's last movie to feature Jay & Silent Bob,
but that racket has been good to him, so IMHO he'd be a fool to let it
go. If he started making more non-J&SB flicks, that's great, but I
find it difficult to picture that the guy would completley put J&SB
out to pasture. They'll be back, I'm sure.

well I do love that franchise, Ben affleck pretty much started there and the
up and coming Jason Lee has been a trademark of these series.

Kevin Smith is quite the talented guy, I picked up some of the comics he
wrote the other day and they are pretty good as well. I have heard this is
the last one as well but I sure hope not. I also heard he is working on
doing "Son of Fletch" with Jason Lee playing the role of Fletch's son...

whatever happened to the idea of clerks 2 ?? as in in the credits of
dogma, (as there have been teasers in all of smith's movies), it says
"watch for jay and silent bob to return in clerks 2". i was looking
forward to that. did it just get renamed, or what the crap ??

This is news to me. But then again, I usually don't stick around for
credits (altho I'm sometimes rewarded for my trouble when I do; for
those who care, watch the end credits of the Phantom Menace and listen
for Darth Vader breathing). Clerks 2 would kick so much ass. The
first Clerks movie was brilliant, low budget or not. I loved it.
It's a certified classic, IMHO. Now that I think about it, the only
movie Kevin Smith has ever made that I'm not real into is Chasing Amy.
The rest of 'em kick ass.

Jason Lee is a fucking role model.

At the end of Dogma, is said they would be back in Clerks 2-hardly
Clerkin, maybe that was the working title or just him having fun.

I know, I can't wait for it. I looked at the page for it at IMDB.com and they
show that alot of the actors are playing more than one character including
themselves. I got a jpg of the movie poster, lots of cool people fromt he old
movies. I did notice that Shannon Doherty and Jason London from Mallrats are
missing though, hmmm.

Kev. Smith is totally the man..and all his stuff is great (including all of
his comics).....The Fletch project isn't ever going to happen
(apparently)....and they scrapped the Idea for clerks 2 I think...coz..well
you've already got a classic...why ruin it with a sequal?? Sequal's are
normally worse than their predecessors..so...I guess he didn't wanna end up
with something shitty...also..the fact that it wwas low budget and filmed oh
a crap camera gave clerks it's edge...it wouldn't be the same without it!
Can't wait for Jay and Bob Strike Back......should be fantastic! I'm also
looking forward to Dogma SE on DVD!....YAY! Tis out next month!

Anyway..off to watch our DVD which I recieved in the post today!

Really? I haven't seen the trailer yet. On the commentary for the Mallrats DVD,
Kevin said how she distanced herself from him after the flop of Mallrats, plus
Jason Lee and Ben Affleck weren't very positive when talking about her.

I think he's thinking of Shannon Elizabeth who is definitely in the film

As far as I know, Kevin Smith scrapped plans for Clerks 2 in favor of J&SBSB.
There was talk of making Clerks 2 as an animated flick around the time that the
Clerks animated series was in production. Last I heard was that MTV was
interested in a Clerks cartoon series, so it may return.
It is my understanding that Smith is indeed looking at J&SBSB as the end
chapter in his "Viewaskew"iverse. Smith has said that J&SBSB is a film for the
fans and will tie up most, if not all, questions one may have about the
"Viewaskew"iverse (did Holden McNeil and Alyssa Jones ever get back together
after Chasing Amy ended? did Holden and Banky ever patch up their friendship?
etc...).
In my opinion, Smith will indeed move on, at least for his next few films.
Perhaps if those films flop, he will return to the "Viewaskew"iverse ala George
Lucas to Star Wars. If he is sucessful, he probably won't.

On the Clerks animated series DVD commentary, Kevin Smith says that they are
working on a Clerks animated movie, and that commentary is from last fall I
believe.

actually i was reading on kevin's site that an unnamed station that probably should
have air clerks the first time has become interested..... most people think its MTV..
but i'm figuring if the cartoon gets back on tv.. it'll be a while until they make
the movie?

On the DVD Kevin talks about how UPN was going to air it but then they decided to go with
ABC, they kept talking about what a mistake they made and should have gone with UPN, so I
would guess UPN might be the unamed station.
