Why wasn't Yellow Ledbetter on an album?

Subject header says it all. Yellow Ledbetter is one of the most popular PJ
songs, with both the fans and the band itself. I can guess why it wasn't
included on Ten, maybe because they recorded it too late to be included on
the album. But as its such a good song, why not wait to put it onto Vs. ?
Putting it out as a B-side just seems odd, for such a great tune. Or then
again maybe thats the point..its a gift from PJ to the hardcore fans who
buy all the singles..

why dont' we talk about something other than yellow ledbetter for once.
besides, this exact thing has been argued to death. btw.. it's not that great
of a song ,,,really.

I've often wondered as well... maybe they wanted to reward the true fans who
would buy all the singles with a great B-side?

b-sides doesn't mean it's there worst songs. it could be any songs
that they feel they don't want to put on an album or didn't finish it
in time w/ the other albums.

I have heard it's included on a compilation called "Chapters" but I haven't
been able to find it anywhere....

it doesn't deserve to be on an album. it's a ripoff of little wing, it has
completely improvved lyrics, and it is so incredibly overplayed... sure,
it's a nice place for mikey to show off, but there are so many other songs
that deserve the praise that ledbetter gets.

Ledbetter was cool at first-now though it is just so overplayed, both on radio
and at concerts-I actually sunk when they ended the 9/15 show I attended with
it-Mike gave an incredible solo but still-it's a GOOD song, not great-it is not
one of their 10,or even 15 best ever songs. It probably wouldn't even make the
top 20 if you include covers-

The thing w/ yellow ledbetter is that the studio version isn't that great
anyway, there's been a few live versions that totally kick ass and this is
due to what ed decides to sing and what kindda solo mike does... Anyway, I
don;t think it would have fitted on Vs (it already kick ass)

There's alot of great songs that are b-sides...Same way with
solat, it got kind of "old" to be put on "Vs". Plus Yellow Ledbetter
probably woudn't fit in w/ other Vs songs.I think the band wanted
a loud album

Chapters is a Vitology era bootleg. If you live in NY, i can point you to a
store where you can get a copy.
