Do any of you old Jam fans get peed off with all this re-writing of
history which basically tries to make Rick and Bruce out to be the
Jam's rythm section and Champagne Charlies to boot???(Mojo interview
being the latest)
I know Weller wrote most of the songs but The Jam were all three
guys and not Paul + 2 others.

Anyone agree??

Have to disagree. Those two were Muppets, they did fuck all. Im a better
drummer than Buckler. As for the history bit, ive read"there" story a
million times, its so fucking boring.

YES.

Causality dictates that without those two being in the right place at the
right time it would never have happened and PW may have ended up working on
building sites for the rest of his natural. Also, their contributions not
only in the musical sense but also team spirit, motivating the whole,
keeping the fans happy must be recognised as well. The Jam were the The Jam
because of them and PW, and GP, and PW's dad (his name escapes me - don't
say Mr Weller), Peter Wilson and a million others, including thee and me.

Hi,

I agree with you. The Jam were a GROUP and not a solo act with a backing
group. None of my records, tapes, CDs, videos, and books say Paul Weller
and the Jam on them - everything says The Jam.

:-O)

I think weller would have done it with any body backing him up .Lets be
honest they didn't do much after the jam split and weller had to tell them
what to do and how to play .Eventully he just had enough there talents were
limited and there support and enthuiasum for the song he wrote was small
.Look at it carefully .Different music tastes. They were just along for the
ride
