Causality dictates that without those two being in the right place at the
right time it would never have happened and PW may have ended up working on
building sites for the rest of his natural. Also, their contributions not
only in the musical sense but also team spirit, motivating the whole,
keeping the fans happy must be recognised as well. The Jam were the The Jam
because of them and PW, and GP, and PW's dad (his name escapes me - don't
say Mr Weller), Peter Wilson and a million others, including thee and me.

I agree with you. The Jam were a GROUP and not a solo act with a backing
group. None of my records, tapes, CDs, videos, and books say Paul Weller
and the Jam on them - everything says The Jam.
