Did you know that there are 7 other newsgroups that have more references to
Weller than this one................

what's going on here?.................not f****** much, that's what.

What's you're opinion on Matt Deighton?....................i hope he stays
with Weller, he's much better than Craddock IMO....................what do
you think?

Cheers

Keep Matt Deighton? No, no, no!

He's obviously a brilliant guitarist but I hate the way he ruins the solos
live! They don't sound anything like the records.

Craddock used to keep more to the original feel, which was much better in my
opinion.

Anyway, which are the other newsgroups?

It seemed that Craddock so wanted to actually be Weller that on stage he
emulated him almost exactly note for note (and even the Weller moves). I
like them equally, and am glad he changes his musicians pretty often.
Mind you, Deighton did save PW's cred. at the April 99 Rockpalast gig don't
you think? (Heavy Soul)

Again, what other newsgroups?

Cheers !!!

Agree with you that Matt doesn't keep so tightly to the original
feel/sound........but that's probably partly why i prefer his playing. Plus
the lack of new material doesn't help either.

To be honest i'd prefer anyone over Craddock..............i'm just not moved
by OCS at all.

Offf the top of my head the newsgroup with the most Weller references was
alt.music.oasis .......according to Deja.com anyway........

At least my original post got 2 replies..........that's more than i've seen
on this ng in a week :)

Cheers

I like Matt's style, but Craddock is a much better guitarist.

Weller's better than both anyway. Don't forget he wrote the stuff in the
first place! Superb song structures!

Not the best lead player, but who cares about that anyway?

UNBELIEVABLE! They are (IMNSHO) one of the (if not THE) finest bands
today. Great vocals, songwriting, melodies. They can pull off songs
on both ends of the spectrum with tunes like "Hundred Mile High City"
and "Mrs. Jones". Plus they have the 2nd best drummer alive... I
can't wait to hear the new stuff (us Americans haven't had a chance to
see them live in several years, so I've no way of hearing the new songs
until the singles/new cd come out.)

As I've said in the past., on this newsgroup there's too much spam, and not
enough Jam!!!

Everyone seems to be trying to flog stuff here. Is there a better place
where we can talk about Weller, rather then try and flog loads of shit?

Well, I do not know which ones he was referring to,
but here are a couple that had mention of Weller over
the last few weeks :)

alt.music.ska
alt.skinheads.moderated
alt.music.the-mods

Just to name a few...
