Finishing off his recent tour with this extravaganza, featuring artists that
could only dream of Weller's status, there is more than a sniff of
self-indulgence in today's 'Ideal Pop Exhibition'. With circus acts, Dum
Dums, Mojave 3, Finlaye Quaye, Toploader and David Holmes all making up the
billing, Paul Weller makes sure the others seem like side-shows. And rightly
so.

Weller takes the stage - he is bearing up well in light of recent
allegations - sporting a compere's black ruffled shirt and brown leather
jacket, a shorn barnet, perhaps preparing himself for the clink, he's
looking better than ever, much like a trendy and talented school teacher...
