Hello guys!
A friend told me to check out Helicentric and I have to say that I really
like this record. I am from Germany and that record did not get a whole lot
of press, not even in the German music press. I do not think that it sold
many copies here either. And while I think that most of the music press
reviewed it quite favorably, I am not sure if it made a lot of impact. Did
it?
Thanks
Daniel

It got mixed reviews, some people thought it was his best album though.

I loved it and still play if often now.

Paul himself has said he doubts the quality of the record, but he's always
very, very self critical isn't he !

It sold well enough in England as it made No 2 in the album chart.

I have to say it's my least favourite Weller outing. But he does have
creative lulls from time to time.

Still - he's on BBC2 in half an hour, so that's got to be worth watching.

It's my first time of posting to this NG. Weller is my undisputed favourite
msuician of all time.

What goes on in here then? A lot?

Indeed.
Look, do any of you guys know if he is planning a tour to Australia. I lived
in England for 6 years and didn't manage to see him ONCE!!! for various
reasons.
Loking forward to the new album. Heliocentric is a great record, but not
quiet Wildwood, Stanley Road, Sound Affects, or for my money, his best song
(as opposed to album) is My ever changing moods. But I'm an old fucker.
Geoff.

Incidently, Billy Bragg is in Aus in the next week or so, and I have a load
of tickets, so if you are in Aus (sydney) on the 15 of October, drop me a
line !!
