Gerard
He's playing on the Saturday night. The 3 members of the Manchester branch
of amps will be there.
Julie (off to buy new pair of wellies)
He's also playing in Lörrach (on the German border to Switzerland) on
the 27th of July.
Great news for me as I only live 10 minutes away.
Greetings,
Long time lurker
sorry, 26th of July I meant!
And we'll also be at Liverpool .
Good to hear from you Gerard! The 6th July date is at the Summer Pops
in Liverpool. Remember, we were all there in 2002 - you had quite a
trip that year, didn't you? Happy memories. The Northern and
Southern branch of amps will be there this year - and the tents have
been replaced with the huge new Echo Arena.
Sue.
Yes, happy memories indeed. I have lots of photos to preserve them
(hey, preseve those memories, that would make a great line in a song
maybe?); there were lots of us...and yes, all branches of ampsters
will be there in Liverpool again I hope.

Hello Sue, and Madeleine and Julie,
Yes, I have very happy memories of 2002 - the concerts I attended at
Brussels, Liverpool & Kilkenny within that week are probably the best
ever for me.
I am seriously considering whether I can plan a UK/Europe trip again
this time around the Liverpool show. Hopefully tickets won't sell out
before I can make my decision.
It would be great to meet up again. It certainly is a lot of fun
going to these concerts with people who appreciate the music as much
as I do.

The parisian branch will be there too! I've just bought tickets on ebay at
an horrible price but good location.
Madeleine, could you post or send me one of these pictures? A virus deleted
mine. I'm not sure I'll be able to put a name of every face. I think a lot
of Ampsters were in Liverpool: Julie, Wayne, Simon, Barbara, Gerard, Chris,
Pauline, Sue, you and myself (with my wife, also coming this year). Anyone
else?
Is Cornbury far from Liverpool?
Nicolas
Nicolas, it will be good to see you again, and your wife too!
Congratulations! Where are your seats at Liverpool?
Sue
Gerard,
Can you send the emails to me again, which you sent me last week?
I've lost my emails somehow! I don't think I have the correct address
for you.
Sue.
Better be front row ... He has a reputation to keep ...
Hi, yes I have sent a photo from Liverpool to your phone. I assume
your now wife is the pretty girl who was with you then in the photo?
I'm afraid I have forgotten her name... Many congratulations anyway!
Cornbury is near Oxford but I couldn't say how far. Sue or Julie, how
far would you say?
Madeleine
> Better be front row ... He has a reputation to keep ...
My reputation should be safe... I don't have the tickets in hand (neither
the seller) but they are for block B, row A.
Nicolas

Yes, that's Agnes. We met the day YTO was released and got married few days
after Surprise release. But that's pure chance!
If Cornbury is not too far from Liverpool, I may decide to come.
Nicolas
Congrats on your marriage. :-)
Cathy
Yes, that's bang in the centre, at the front - you lucky people!
(Gerard - sorry to use amps for this, but I'm still getting emails
bounced back to me. Can you email me with a different email address
possibly? Don't worry if not, some are getting through.)
Sue.

It's about 170 miles.......so yes quite a distance.
Congrats on getting married.

Yes, I think you must do that, Nicolas, especially as you did not tell
us at the time! ;-)
Ha ha - you remember where we all met! I was going to suggest we meet
there again in July maybe? And if you're paying, even better :-)
Sue

I was too shy ;o)
Nicolas
That's sound good Nicolas. Can't wait.
I do remember your Agnes and talking with her at the Pumphouse. At
the time I thought she was a pretty special catch for you. Well done.
I also like the way you remember your significant events by reference
to when Paul Simon albums were released (started dating when YTO
released and married when Surprise released). Is that how you
remember your anniversaries?
Also, since it is 2 years since Surprise (and your wedding) I guess it
won't be too long before there are some more little surprises coming
along :-)
regards, Gerard

Nicolas, yes I do remember the trip in your car at about 3am. It was
a highlight, especially when you drove down the one way street the
wrong way. Before that I thought it was just me who was lost. My
hotel was closed and I had to bang on the door to wake up someone to
let me in.
That day was such a pleasant surprise for me because I wasn't planning
to be at that concert and should have been flying home from Heathrow
to New Zealand that night. You may remember it was an awful storm in
southern England and all flights, trains, and boats were cancelled
that day. So we missed our flight and we got an extra night in Paris -
and I abandoned my wife and 2 young children for the night for an
extra Paul Simon concert (that of course was the first night of taping
that became the Paul Simon- YTO Live 2000 concert DVD).
I remember Simon M was in the car also (is he coming along to any
concerts this time?) and another young woman I think used to be active
posting here in this group - can you remember?
Good memories.
