PAUL SIMON ROCKS !!! WOO HOOO !!!
He cliams 5'6". Few actually believe this.
He's 7 feet tall. It's true. I heard it on VH1.
Oh, come on. That's just the propoganda talking there. I can garantee
that he is no taller than 6'8". You really need to check your sources
more carefully.

I've heard 5'4" but can't verify it.

Well of course he is 6'8" without his platforms, and 7' with them on. I
thought *everybody* knew that.
You should be more careful. This is how misinformation begins.

All I can say for sure is that I saw Paul some years ago on the Dick Cavett
Show, back when Cavett was on ABC. Cavett IS 5'6". Naturally, the conversation
did turn to height, or, more accurately, the lack of height. At one point
Cavett said "We're about the same size, aren't we? Why don't you stand up?"
They stood back to back, and Paul barely cleared Cavett's shoulders.
I actually KNOW that he can't be taller than 5'4". I was at his concert
in 1975 in Amsterdam, I was 13 years old and he was still a little bit
taller than me. At that point I was about 5'2". I got his autograph, so
I was really close. Believe me....

Was he wearing boots?
I have read that he is 5'2".
That's closer to what I've heard is the truth.....
ohh..I remember that particular show--that was one of my favorites...didn't he
play labryinth for Dick? & Germaine Greer was also on? (remember the bit
about her panties?)

How wonderful :-) Do you still have the autograph? What do you remember
from that 'meeting', did you manage to say anything to him or did he say
anything to you?

Most probably he said to Betty:
"Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al" ;-)

You must have seen that more recently than I (yes, I am old enough to have
seen it in first run). :-)
I do remember Paul and the Labyrinth, but didn't connect that as being the same
show.
No, no, I haven't seen it recently. I too, am old enough to have seen it in its
first run & vividly remember it. I think he also sang "Let Me live in your
City" on it (which later became "Something So Right").
alt.newsgroupspaul-simon
I didn't know about "Let Me Live In Your City". Can you give more details?
Michael
Gee, I dunno, why would "Mary the Snob" & "Mary the boring" do that?
