I was wondering if anybody knows information about Pat's current gear and setup.
I am seriously considering buying a new amp at the end of this summer. Right
now, I am not getting the tone or quality that I am getting from my amp. I really like
the tone Pat got on the album "We Live Here" (especially on "Here to Stay"). I
would appreciate anybody giving information about Pat's gear (guitar, amp,
pickups, strings, etc.). Thanks a bunch.

For We Live Here's standard guitar sound (vs. the synth sounds), I believe Pat
used the natural finish Ibanez prototype (without the double cutaway) that he's
often been photographed with. For the tour (if not the album), he was using a
Digitech 2101 preamp instead of his old Acoustic (brand) amp. From here he goes
to his effects, then to three power amps (Yamahas?), one "clean" and then right
and left with his delay/slight pitch shift. He also runs it through a Lexicon
reverb. I believe Pat uses larger speakers in his cabinets, like 15" -ers
rather than the standard 12" speakers used by most rockers. Pat uses 11-50
gauge flatwound D'addario strings (in the orange and black package).

That's a lot of gear to buy.... I personally love the clean sound I get out of
my Peavey (yeah, I now...) Classic 50 2x12, which I set to get a similar basic
sound to Pat's minus the chorus, which I feel is his trademark and therefore not
"my sound" (altough it is fun to mess with from time to time). I've also gotten
good Pat-like sounds out of the newer Crate tweed amps (again, go for the bigger
speakers), and also some of the Fender custom shop stuff (but that's getting
expensive again).

I think my info is still accurate. Paulo?

Really? Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

One side has about 25 ms delay, the other has a little bit less I
think. The pitch shift comes from a Lexicon VFO box, a rare item these
days. And he uses 4x12 cabs I believe.
