Okay...when did Dexter Holland have a daughter? This is so jacked up cause I
had no idea...how did you people find out? And I guess Kristine isn't the
mother right? Damn...I know this sounds rude and all, and it kind of puts down
people, and "punk" rockers are people too and should be able to have
families...but I always thought of the whole punk thing to be free and
rebelious and carefree, but when you get married and have children, I kind of
think it diminishes the meaning of being punk, cause now you're sort of tied
down...anyone get me?

I don't know when Dexter had A daughter. But I read that he had A daughter in
the interview in the March issue of Spin.

Not that I know...but

I thought Punk was about what ever you wanted it to be about...
It's about not following rules unless you want to, if Dex wants to be
married and have kids, it's up to him.

Noodles doesn't really drink anymore, he doesn't really party after gigs etc
etc. But he's really into the music like the rest of the band and that is
all that matters.

Someone told me that Dexter's daughter is 12 years old. Her name is Alexa,
and you're right, Kristine isn't her mother.

yeah, I know, if Dexter wants to have a wife and kids, it's up to him, but I
kind of take this as a personal blow. People deserve to have personal lives,
but does he not love and trust his fans enough to tell them he's got offspring
of his own? I mean, he told us about his wife, but I would be so upset with
Dexter if I was his daughter cause he's kind of saying that he doesn't care
enough to mention his daughter, his own flesh and blood. So I guess he doesn't
REALLY trust us, I mean, REALLY trust us. Now that makes me feel shitty...oh
well..do you think Dexter ever reads these things???

Why do you think you are entitled to know about everything that goes on in
somebody else's life just because they are famous?

Man, you are really stupid. Maybe he understands that it's tough to be a
kid in the spotlight. Maybe he understands that if he made her a public
icon, she would be known as 'Dexter Holland's daughter', instead of a person
of her own.

>So I guess he doesn't
>REALLY trust us,

I sure as hell wouldn't trust an invasive jerk like you.

>Now that makes me feel shitty...

Good. Maybe you should.

Yes, Dexter does have a daughter. She is 12 years old and her name is
Alexa. Kristine is not the mother. There is some info at
http://members.xoom.com/offspringirl I just found this out about 3
months ago and it's really weird that no one ever knew about her
before. It's also weird that he never even thanks her in any of their
albums, like he wants to keep her a secret or something. He was
talking about her in this month's Flipside magazine. He was asked if
he introduced his daughter to punk yet and he said, "Yeah, kind of,
she's getting there, she's really into the whole disney thing."

Hey yeah, I found out a little while ago that Dex had a Daughter. Her name is
Alexia or something; Its not Kristine's. I was a little shocked too when I
found out but I figure, The meaning of punk is not to be rebelious and free,
its to do what you want to do and go by what you think, and not take shit from
anyone. So if getting married and starting a familiy is what he wanted to do
then great, let him go about his life how he wants, you know what I mean?

Yeah, I agree with you tottaly. Punk is not like a religoen that says to rebel
and go angainst anything, Its more about what you want to do with you life.

Okay...
Obviously some of you are not mature enough to handle an opinion...and I'm
sorry about that (I wont name certain persons...). But CyberDave (oops...), do
you have to fuck my op just cause I'd like to know about one part of someone's
life, someone who is in the one group who has changed my outlook on life for
almost 7 years? Anyway, thanx to the people who answered my question without
any kidish remarks, all I wanted to know was when and where this came out and I
added my views...

Hell, I'd be honored to be aka 'Dexter Holland's daughter'!

No, you spoke of Dexter with disdain because you feel you are entitled to
know about someone else's private life. You aren't. Whether you want to
know or not is not the issue; it's human nature to want to know, but to
condemn somebody for protecting their child's identity is just not right.

Views? I think when somebody insinuates that a father doesn't care about
his daughter if he doesn't expose her to the media and nosy fans, 'kidish
remarks' are in order.

I really doubt you'd like to be seen as an extension of somebody else,
rather than an actual person.

woah guyz cool it. don't get in a big fight about dexter. I understand
that yoshiqueen feels upset about dexter not letting us know about his
daughter but it's his personal life. dave, you ARE protecting dex but
don't be such a jerk.
from: detxerhollandlover
p.s; live like there is no tommorrw
p.ps: don't send me a childish message back saying like "keep out of
this" or " no one asked you" I'm an onlooker and it's my job to give
people advice cause I have alot of it- was that right?
