Oasis Promos
There are numerous Oasis promotional items available; for live concert
promos, I've not listed what's on which promo - that would take too much
space. Also available are many promos for singles (eg Don't Look Back In
Anger one track US promo), promos for tracks that didn't become singles in
their own right (eg a White label vinyl promo of I Am The Walrus and a CD
promo for Cum On Feel The Noize), and album promos. This guide now lists
promo catalogue numbers where known, in section II.
Beware! There are some fake versions of promos in circulation, so be very
careful when purchasing one. Promos with known fakes include the (What's The
Story) Morning Glory CD with Step Out, The Oasis Live CD from France and Cum
On Feel The Noize 12".
There are some promos of actual concerts. Here are a selection:
Westwood One In Concert - Live at the Chicago Metro. The versions I've
seen have pretty duff covers which made me suspect it was a bootleg, but
dealers continue to sell it, so I guess it's not. It goes for around various
sums - sometimes as low as £25, often around £40 and contains an excellent
electric set (ESK6805). Also available as a UK official promo video (not
commercially) (69 mins).
Live From The Pit - GSN US 2CD promo, over 90mins long with 16 tracks
and cues.
Maine Road - Available as two 100 minute promo videos one from 27th
April 96, the other from 28th April '96. Not available commercially.
Earl's Court also exists as a promo video.
Live From Knebworth - A two CD set currently retailing at a ridiculous
130 quid (ridiculous since Knebworth was broadcast on radio around the
world.
Oasis Vignettes - Apparently a selection of various live tracks
including Earl's Court. Goes for around 55 pounds.
Oasis/Foo Fighters/Presidents of the USA A 2 CD set going for 40 quid.
Origin of tracks is unknown.
Paris '94 - A two track promo featuring Shakermaker and Rock 'n' Roll
Star from a concert in Paris is available with a Belgian/French import of
Don't Look Back In Anger for around 30 pounds.
Album Promos
There are various album promos. Those known include a standard Definitely
Maybe (CRE CD 169P), a Euro Sampler from the album (containing the singles
plus Bring It On Down), France produced a 2-track Definitely Maybe promo
with (unusual track choice!) Sad Song and Cloudburst on it (SAMP2347).
For (What's The Story) Morning Glory, a version is available (in a black
card sleeve) with Step Out on it, as track 8, listing otherwise unaltered
(CRECD189P, which was the same code used for a later version which does not
have Step Out on it.), cassette C-CRE 189P (same again concerning Step Out).
There is a (What's The Story) Morning Glory sampler cassette, C-CRE 189PX
with Hello, Morning Glory, Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger on it.
The US promo (or "Advance CD") has a different cover - the picture from the
finished CD itself.
There are various Be Here Now promos - a cassette (C-CRE 219P), a 4-track
sampler cassette (C-CRE 219PX) with D'You Know What I Mean?, All Around The
World, Stand By Me and It's Gettin' Better (Man!!), a CD (CCD 219P). The CD
and cassettes came in black sleeves without the album title on them. Not a
promo, but fast becoming a collector's item is the Be Here Now box set,
which was exclusively available to the Oasis Mailing List members.
The Masterplan turns up in various promotional forms. A slimline case
version with Black sleeve with the logo on it is Sony/Helter Skelter SAMPCD
5859. There is also a UK in-store 4 track promo with Acquiesce, Talk
Tonight, Rockin' Chair and The Masterplan (CCD241), and a similar CD with
the same tracks and excerpts from the Interview CD given away with The
Masterplan in Independent US stores (OASISINSTORE)
There is also a French Oasis promo model London bus!
Section II: The Songs
Acoustic Song
Available On: Unavailable.
Comments: A very early acoustic song from 1992, quite possibly the track
listed on bootlegs as Life In Vain - the band may have referred to it as the
'acoustic song'.
Acquiesce
Available on: Some Might Say CD single and The Masterplan.
Comments: Part of the band's US and UK sets for a long time, and one of the
few B-sides to escape from the back end of a single despite practically
every song deserving to do so - Creation thought it should be the A-side so
Noel decided on Some Might Say to annoy Alan McGee.
Alternative Versions: Official live versions are on the 'Live By The Sea'
and '...There and Then' videos, and on the CD given away with some copies of
The Masterplan sold in US independent record stores. There are numerous
bootleg versions available.
Promos: There is a 12" and a CD promo, CTP 204 (570 copies) and CCD 204P
(300 copies) respectively .It also appears on a 4-track in-store promo CD to
promote the singles box-sets (OASIS P96/1). The song also appears on
Creation promo Creation Unreleased, and came on a two track (with (It's
Good) To Be Free) CD given away with some French copies of (What's The
Story) Morning Glory (481020 9). A US promo was created for the Masterplan
release, and its cover consists of different pictures from the shoot for the
UK sleeve. The track appears on a promo for The Masterplan album
(SAMPMC6033).
Video Promo: A video for this song was cobbled together from concert clips
(G-Mex) and other footage of the band to promote the B-sides collection
album The Masterplan.
Alka Seltzer
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, possibly bits of it became Supersonic, but the lyrics
are not known.
Alive
Available on: Shakermaker CD single.
All Around The World
Available on: Be Here Now as a single, and as a live single available to US
residents only.
Comments: Written years ago around the time of Definitely Maybe, but not
recorded until the Be Here Now sessions. Noel stated that he'd like to enter
this song for the Eurovision Song Contest, a move which prompted the
organisers of the show to invite Oasis to perform during the break of the
1997 show, which they declined. This track appears twice on Be Here Now -
it's second appearance being an orchestral reprise (next entry). The single
is about 20 seconds longer as it fades out properly instead of being sequed
into the next track. There is a 7" edit on the limited edition numbered
single. In 1998, a live version of the song was released for a limited time
as a single in the US, by mail order only to US residents only, with the
profits going to buy instruments for American schools!
Alternative Versions: There are plenty of live bootlegs and this song was
broadcast as part of the MTV 'All Around The World' show live from
Manchester G-Mex 14th December 1997.
Promos: There is a standard CD promo and a 12" promo which should be CRESCD
282P and CTP282. A US demonstration promo is available, ESK 3619, which has
a nice cover (the spaceship from the video) and contains the Radio Edit
(about 5 minutes), the Video Edit (about 7 minutes) and the LP version. Also
there is a black card cover 1-track, CCD 282 and a blue card 2-track (with
Street Fighting Man), CCD 282X, and a Euro CD with an edit on it (Sony
SAMPCS 4754).
Video Promo: Either over the top-ridiculous or utterly brilliant, depending
how you see it, this Yellow Submarine/Monty Python parody features Oasis
going All Around The World (ah, do you see!) in a spaceship, and finishes up
inside Liam! The animation was done in Los Angeles, whilst the live action
stuff with Oasis was filmed at Elstree.
All Around The World (Reprise)
Available on: Be Here Now.
Comments: Reprise of the above song with orchestra. The clumping feet at the
end belong to Brian Cannon, the Oasis sleeve designer.
Angel Child (Demo)
Available on: D'You Know What I Mean single.
Comments: Available on the CD and 12" release, this song is one of two on
the single sung by Noel and was recorded as part of the Mustique album demos
in 1996 (hence Noel's "Okay Dokey" at the start")
Angel Face
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title. I
doubt it is an early version of Angel Child though as it was written as far
as we know, in 1996.
(As Long As They've Got) Cigarettes In Hell
Available on: Go Let It Out single
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album.
Baa Baa Papa
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Be Here Now
Available on: Be Here Now (obviously).
Comments: First performed live at the Oakland Coliseum, when Oasis supported
U2 there in 1997 (available on bootleg). Digsy gets another mention (see
Digsy's Dinner). The song borrows from Oasis's own Columbia. A special
performance (the band in Air Studios) was included on the BBC 1 documentary
"Right Here Right Now".
Alternative Versions: There are plenty of live bootlegs and this song was
broadcast as part of the MTV 'All Around The World' show live from
Manchester G-Mex 14th December 1997.
Being A Blue
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title, but
I guess it's about being a Man City fan.
Better Let You Know
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: Unreleased cover of a house track, recalled by Noel on 'What's The
Story' documentary for Radio 1. Appeared on an early demo tape in 1992, and
was performed by Oasis at one of their first concerts in Manchester.
Alternative Versions: The Boardwalk, Manchester in 1991 is the only known
live version.
Bone's One
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, possibly a working/shorthand title for Bonehead's Bank
Holiday, certainly likely to refer to Bonehead at least.
Bonehead's Bankholiday
Available On: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ? - Vinyl only bonus track.
Comments: Was also made available on tape through an NME cover-mounted
cassette 'Brat Pack '96', Bonehead of course being Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs
(who Noel has described as being tone deaf!) ..a most amusing song!
Promos: NME 'Brat Pack '96' cassette.
Bring It On Down
Available on: Definitely Maybe
Comments: This song was considered the best track for release as the first
single by the label, but Oasis insisted on Supersonic. This is the first
song Oasis played on May 30th, 1993, the night they were discovered by Alan
Mcgee. Amateur video footage of that performance exists, and whilst not of
great quality is of course historically of great interest.
Alternative Versions: There is a live version on the B-side to Shakermaker,
bootlegs are available.
Callin All
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Carry Us All Forthcoming
Available On: Unreleased, available on bootleg with Noel on vocals.
Comments: One of the Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants demos that has
leaked out before it has been officially released. Most like to be a future
B-side, this is a fantastic track.
Cast No Shadow
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?
Comments: This song was written on the same day as Wonderwall.
Alternative Versions: A live version from Maine Road is on the '...There and
Then' video. Noel performed this song for the Tibetan Freedom Concert, and
his live solo electric performance was included on the album of the concert.
Noel has performed some solo acoustic versions on occasion, and some are
available on bootlegs.
Champagne Supernova
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?, as a US single.
Comments: When performed at the MTV Video Music Awards 1996 (in addition to
gobbing, throwing beer about, giving the US audience the anti-christ sign
and swearing at them) Liam altered a line to "In A Champagne Supernova up
yer bum!". Nice. Noel named his house after this song ("Supernova Heights")
and a guitar designed to his specification, the Epiphone Supernova also
takes its name from the title.
Alternative Versions: A live version on the '...There and Then' video and
from Knebworth on the accompanying CD as well as numerous bootlegs.
Promos: There is a B-side called Champagne Supernova (Lynchmob Beats Mix) on
the 12" promo for Cum On Feel The Noize - this being the only Oasis track
only available on a promo (produced by Paul Weller producer Brendan Lynch).
A double sided promo exists on vinyl as well as a two-track US CD single
promo (with the Radio Edit and Album versions, omitting Slide Away
SAMP3393).
Video Promo: Liam with a beard in this studio-based promo for the US single,
filmed at Ealing Studios, London.
Chill
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, thought to refer to the pre-Oasis band The Rain.
Lyrics include 'The rain's long gone/ It's time to make it mine/When it all
comes down you'll be asking me for spare change/But a dollar won't save you
from the chill'.
Chipper S.O.B.
Available On: Unreleased. Available on bootleg.
Comments: An off the cuff adlib from Noel whilst on WHFS Nutcracker US radio
7/12/95.
Cigarettes & Alcohol
Available on: Definitely Maybe, and as a single.
Comments: One of the earliest tracks Oasis did for the Radio 1 evening
session, in December 1993. The main riff is quite obviously knicked from
T-Rex's 'Get It On'. The unfamiliar bloke on the cover is Tim Abbott.
Described as by Noel as Cigs + Beer in an early notebook.
Alternative Versions: There's a live version from the Manchester G-Mex, 14th
December 1997 on the Japanese Don't Go Away single, and another live version
is on the 'Live By The Sea' video and from Maine Road on the '...There and
Then' CD and from Earl's Court on the video. Numerous bootlegs exist.
Promos: A 12" White Label promo exists (CRE 190TP, 300 copies), as does a CD
(CRESCD190P) and an early demo version appeared on the cover of a Feb '94
NME on a tape called 'The Mutha of Creation'.
Video Promo: Concert-set promo filmed in Soho, London.
Clockin(g) The Watch
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title. The
"g" at the end of the title is bracketed here as Noel's handwritten notes do
not include it.
Cloudburst
Available on: Live Forever single.
Comments: Noel has said he'd liked to have played this more often. The
melody is similar in places to the Stone Roses' 'Standing Here'. One line,
("Now I can feel the rain") is sung in a very similar vein to See The Sun.
This track is on the 1993 demo tape recorded at The Real People's Studio in
Liverpool
Alternative Versions: A live version from the Boardwalk, Manchester is
available on bootleg Under The Boardwalk.
Promos: French promo SAMP2347 includes this.
Cold World
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Colour My Life
Available On: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: Appeared on an early demo tape in 1992, and has not been released
commercially. This is one of the better early songs, and lasts seven
minutes.
Columbia
Available on: Definitely Maybe
Comments: Real People singer Chris Griffiths claims he wrote the first
verse, with Liam claiming the chorus as his.
Alternative Versions: There is a demo White label version B-side to
Supersonic. A live version appears on the 'Live By The Sea' video, and there
are numerous bootlegs.
Promos: A pretty rare (510 copies) one sided 12" vinyl promo which is the
same as the aforementioned B-side exists (CTP008).
Comin On Strong
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is know, though the title is part
of a line from the later D'You Know What I Mean.
Cum On Feel The Noize
Available On: Don't Look Back In Anger single.
Comments: A cover of a Slade song. The voice at the end is Tim Abbott.
Alternative Versions: It was performed live by Noel on 'Later with Jools
Holland' and at Maine Road (available on video).
Promos: 12" with a remix of Champagne Supernova as the B-side (CTP221X, with
postcard - around 1200 copies), and as a one track CD with a football
imprint (CCD221) sent out to football grounds around the country.
Datura Dream Rebound
Available On: Unreleased
Comments: A song title given to Noel by Johnny Marr. I've seen this reported
as Daytona Dream Deffered which is probably wrong. Apparently about the
return of dreams after taking cocaine, this was also a title used by Noel
for a working songlist which forms an early version of the first album (see
below).
Definately Maybe [sic]
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: An unreleased song, from which, with corrections to Noel's
spelling became the title of the first album. The song itself was dropped.
Digsy's Dinner
Available on: Definitely Maybe
Comments: The name came from the singer of Smaller (then Small), Peter
'Digsy' Deary, a friend of the band from Liverpool who is also namechecked
on Be Here Now.
Alternative versions: Live version on 'Live By The Sea' video and some
bootlegs.
Don't Go Away
Available on: Be Here Now and as a Japanese only single.
Comments: This great song was first mentioned by Noel in a Select interview
in 1996. Oasis performed this song on the Letterman show and Saturday Night
Live. For reasons known only to them, Oasis only released this as a single
in Japan.
Alternative Versions: Was broadcast as part of the MTV 'All Around The
World' show live from Manchester G-Mex 14th December 1997 (a deviation
presumably for the worldwide broadcast as Magic Pie was usually played
instead in the UK). Appears on some bootlegs (live, from the TV versions
mentioned above and from US concerts). Noel has played solo acoustic
versions at some concerts.
Promos: A promotional video was released in the US (see below), but no
single there. The US 1-track promo CD has code ESK 2591 and an Austrian
promo is SAMPCS 5140.
Video Promo: Tear-jerking video with Liam damning his education..filmed in
Bow, London, this video was produced for the US.
Don't Look Back In Anger
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ? and as a single.
Comments: 'Stand Up Beside The Fireplace' was apparently an instruction to
the Gallagher children when they had their photos taken. There has been some
lyrical variation during performances; on The White Room, 'a rock and roll
band' became 'my Rock and Roll band' and at some concerts it has been 'our
Rock and Roll band'. During the 4th August 1996 Loch Lomond concert Noel
made the last line 'Better than Blur any day'!
Alternative Versions: A live version from Maine Road is on the '...There and
Then' video. Another legally available live version is on the CD Rock The
Dock (Creation CRECD 240).A wonderful acoustic version, the best I've heard,
was played by Noel on ITV's 'Hotel Babylon', which was bizarrely shown at
around 1am and is available on bootleg. Many other versions are available.
Promos: There are numerous one-track promos from all over the place (US 1
track promo has code ESK8024, Austrian promo is SAMP3093, UK 12" 3-track is
CRE221T, 4-track CD CRESCD221P).
Video Promo: Great video filmed in Pasadena, California and featuring
Patrick Macnee, Steed from the Avengers as a Steed like, brolly-carrying
chauffeur!
Don't Spook The Horse Cover
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early recording, most likely a Neil Young cover (thanks to Kevin
for pointing that out!).
D'yer Really Wanna Know? Unreleased
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Was reportedly the song that The Chemical Brothers used for
'Setting Sun', though Noel has performed an acoustic version of that track..
It is unknown whether it will receive a release.
D'yer Wanna Be A Spaceman
Available on: Shakermaker single.
Comments: On the 'Live By The Sea' video Noel forgets the lyrics and has to
move on to the next song.
Alternative Versions: This wonderful song is quite scarce if you're looking
for other versions, though I have heard a few live versions (On a bootleg of
a Dec '94 Manchester Academy gig it's mistakenly and somewhat bizarrely
called "Basement"). On the 'Live By The Sea' video.
D'You Know What I Mean
Available on: Be Here Now and as a single.
Comments: This was the first Oasis CD single in a cardboard case. The album
version has the sound of a plane at the start of this track. With the morse
code the band were aiming to tap out 'Bugger All'. The single's sleeve was
shot in Wigan. First performed live at the Oakland Coliseum in the US when
Oasis supported U2 there in 1997 (available on bootleg).
Alternative Versions: There's an acoustic version from an Italian radio
performance in Milan, sung by Noel, which is excellent (Noel even tries the
backwards sounds at one point!), and he's done acoustic versions on several
occasions in concert. DYKWIM was broadcast as part of the MTV 'All Around
The World' show live from Manchester G-Mex 14th December 1997, and other
bootlegs exist.
Promos: CRESCD256P with the same tracks as the standard CD, CCD 256 with
just the title song - this CD being in a black card cover with just the
title and Oasis logo, CCD 256X in a white cover, backed by Heroes and a 12"
with Heroes, CTP 256. US 2-track is ESK 0979 (with Radio Edit, running at
6:06), Euro 1-track SAMP-CS-4364. There's also two Mexican promos, PRCD97031
and CDEX-486126, a 12" Dutch promo and a German various artists CD has the
track on it (SAMPCD4545)
Video Promo: Helicopters circle overhead as Oasis play amongst bombed out
buildings, filmed in Beckton, London this shoot used a location previously
utilised by Stanley Kubrick to recreate Vietnam for his film Full Metal
Jacket.
Every Morning
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Everyone's A Winner
Available On: Forthcoming
Comments: At one point, rumoured to have been a single, nothing is known
about it at this point and it's pretty likely that this is a tabloid
rumour - apparently the press reported a song that Oasis had never recorded,
and it's likely that this is it. But I'll leave it here until I can confirm
that.
Fade Away
Available On: Cigarettes & Alcohol single,The Masterplan and in a different
form on the Help album.
Comments: Some of the vocal melody is similar to Wham!'s 'Freedom'. A demo
version appeared on a Select cover tape in May 1994.
Alternative Versions: Another version is commercially available, on the
Warchild album 'Help', this same version also being on the Japanese Don't Go
Away single. This version is far more gentle, and is credited to 'Oasis and
friends' (some live Noel acoustic performances around the time of the
release eg Blackpool, 2nd Oct. 1995, resembled this version). A soundcheck
recording exists on The Untold Story bootleg which consists of an
instrumental version of this song.
Promos: I haven't heard of it as a promo on its own, but Fade Away appears
on a 4-track in-store promo CD to promote the singles box-sets (OASIS
P96/1).
Fade In-Out
Available on: Be Here Now
Comments: First mentioned by Noel in the introduction to the Loch Lomond and
Knebworth programmes. Actor Johnny Depp plays a guitar solo on the track.
His intro to the song was apparently recorded in one take in a Carribean
beach shack (as part of the Mustique demos for the album)! Before release
some magazines reported the title as Fade In/Out and Fading Out. This track
appears on a CD given away with Q Magazine, "The Best of 97" (issue 136).
Alternative Versions: Was broadcast as part of the MTV 'All Around The
World' show live from Manchester G-Mex 14th December 1997, and other live
versions are available on bootleg.
Feed Your Head
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Flashbax
Available on: All Around The World single.
Comments: Another Noel vocal, this song was premiered on Radio 1 in December
1997.
Flying High Forthcoming
Available on: Forthcoming
Comments: A previously unheard of song, Flying High is rumoured to be
appearing as a B-side at some point.
Freedom
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Presumably not the George Michael song, this is an early song
listed in one of Noel's notebooks.
Fuckin' In The Bushes
Available On: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
Comments: Started out as a B-side and became the album opener. Contains
samples from the film "Message To Love - Isle of Wight, 1970" by Murray
Lerner.
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album, apparently with a
sample that was pulled.
Promos: A 12" promo, FITB1, is available. Conflicting reports limit this to
either 300 or 500 copies only.
Gas Panic!
Available On: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
Comments: Written in London by Noel, when he was suffering panic attacks
after he'd given up drugs. Noel's described it as being "like D'You Know
What I Mean's big brother".
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album.
Getting Older Forthcoming
Available On: Unreleased, available on bootleg.
Comments: Possible future B-side, a demo version of which has been in
circulation.
Go Let It Out
Available on: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants and as a single.
Comments: The first Oasis single on Big Brother Recordings Limited, Noel and
Liam's own label, after the collapse of Creation. The single is on a clear
CD with only a small section towards the centre being in the familliar
silver, and Oasis' name is not mentioned! Contains elements from "I Wal On
Gilded Splinters" by Johnny Jenkins. The scratched vinyl sound at the start
is actually Noel running his fingers up and down the guitar strings
Alternative Versions: A Demo version is in circulation.
Promos: CD promo is CCD327, which is presumably a clue to it's catalogue no.
had it been released on Creation.
Video Promo: Some bus-based fun leads Liam to (most of the) rest of the band
performing live on stage.
Going Nowhere
Available on: Stand By Me single and The Masterplan.
Comments: Recorded in May 1997, but dating as far back as 1990 (it appears
in Noels notes from this time) , the track is on the soundtrack to the not
very impressive Acid House trilogy film from Irvine 'Trainspotting' Welsh.
Goodbye Cold World
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg.
Comments: An off the cuff adlib from Noel at the end of his appearance on
WHFS Nutcracker US radio 7/12/95.
Got To Get You Into My Life Unreleased Cover
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg (Blackpool 2nd Oct 1995).
Comments: On one occasion, namely at the Empress Ballroom, Blackpool on 2nd
October '95, Round Are Way was sequed into this Beatles song from Revolver,
and Noel and Liam were clearly enjoying themselves doing it. For this, Scott
Macleod was on Bass.
Half The World Away
Available on: Whatever single and The Masterplan.
Comments: Recorded in Austin, Texas by Noel after he left the band for a few
days. The melody is similar to the opening chords of Burt Bacharach's 'This
Guy's In Love' backwards. Used on the titles of the BBC comedy 'The Royle
Family'.
Promos: Appears on a 4-track in-store promo CD to promote the singles
box-sets (OASIS P96/1).
Headshrinker
Available On: Some Might Say single and The Masterplan.
Comments: The opening riff is from the Small Faces' 'Stay With Me'. This
song was recorded for the Some Might Say single, but written in 1991 or
1992.
Alternative Versions: Appears on the 'Live By The Sea' video. As well as the
video appearance, the song has been performed live on several other
occasions.
Helicopter Doctor
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, lyrics unknown, but surely this must be a working
version of Supersonic? (remember: 'she done it with the doctor/On a
helicopter').
Help! Cover
Available On: Currently available on bootleg only.
Comments: Cover of Beatles classic from the album of the same name. An
acoustic version of this song was performed several times by Noel on the
1998 US tour.
Alternative Versions: The different bootlegs are the only alternatives.
Helter Skelter
Available On: Who Feels love single and Japanese Go Let It Out single.
Comments: Cover of Beatles classic from the White Album. Noel is on vocals.
Alternative Versions: Tibet Freedom Concert - Noel solo electric performance
has been bootlegged.
Hello
Available On: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?
Comments: Pinches some lyrics from Gary Glitter's 'Hello, Hello, I'm Back
Again', and he is credited on the album. The intro is from Wonderwall.
Listed in early Noel notes from pre-1993 as Hello!
Alternative Versions: A live version from Earl's court appears on the
'...There and Then' video. There's a Noel version on MTV Unplugged, which
sounds a bit different from the norm.
Promos: There's a Spanish 1 track promo (SAMPCS3706), apparently made to
promote a Madrid concert which was subsequently cancelled.
(Hendrix One)
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Appears on early song list by Noel, either a cover track or
possibly a Hendrix inspired one.
Here Am I
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Heroes Cover
Available On: D'You Know What I Mean single.
Comments: Cover of the David Bowie song. Noel takes the lead vocals.A band
spokesman said "Noel is a fan of Bowie's seventies material and this is a
song he really likes." Noel wanted to do this song from the early 1990s, and
even wrote out a set of the lyrics which were auctioned at Christies on the
12th December 1998.
Alternative Versions: A solo acoustic version of this song has been played
by Noel on occasion (such as Fairfax, Virgina, 9th January 1998).
Promos: Appears on D'You Know What I Mean white card CD promo CCD 256X and
12" CTP 256.
Hey Now
Available On: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?
Comments: Hasn't been played live as far as I know. Noel refers to this song
as being the one on the album no-one ever talks about.
I Am Always Right
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, lyrics include 'Cos I'm the man who's done and seen
all that there has ever been/ And I'm always right!!'
I Can See A Liar
Available On: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
Comments: About bullshitters, according to Noel, who's also said he wished
he'd worked a bit harder on the lyrics.
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album.
I Am The Walrus
Available On: Cigarettes & Alcohol single and The Masterplan.
Comments: This live version, credited as being from the Cathouse, Glasgow in
1994 is actually from a Sony conference at Gleneagles (also in Scotland) -
the 'audience' is stolen from a Small Faces bootleg! Superb cover of the
Beatles classic ( from Magical Mystery Tour), was performed by Oasis as
their closing track for every concert for at least three years. Much faster
than the original.
Alternative Versions: An excellent version was performed with the Bootleg
Beatles live at Earl's Court on the 5th November 1995 and is preserved on
the '...There and Then' video and on bootlegs, and an earlier live
performance from Southend Pavillion is on the 'Live By The Sea' video. A
Boardwalk rehearsal of this from 1993 is interesting and sounds a bit
different.
Promos: A 12" white label promo exists - CTP190 (at only 250 copies, their
rarest promo now selling for a ridiculous £450!).
(I Got) The Fever
Available On: Stand By Me single.
I Feel It
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
I Hope, I Think, I Know
Available on: Be Here Now.
Comments: This BHN track was said to have been chosen as a UK radio promo
track, but I'm not sure if this is accurate.
Promos: A 1-track US promo exists, with a dice image on the cover, the same
image as that on the back of the Be Here Now cover (Epic ESK 3861).
In Blue
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Also listed as simply Blue.
In My Bone
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
I Want To Know
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
It's Better People
Available On: Roll With It single.
Alternative Versions: Around the time it appeared on the single, this track
was performed live at least twice, including one performance in Germany. The
two performances I know of have both been bootlegged.
Promos: A 9-track French various artists promo CD includes this track
(RSCD0012)
Is That A Fact?
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song. Lyrics include 'Alright, I'm going home/Don't want to
hear your voice no more...I know you're my brother/But only because you came
from my mother'. Can't think who Noel might be referring to here.
It's A Crime Forthcoming
Available On: Unreleased, available on bootleg with Noel on vocals.
Comments: Likely to be a future B-side, this track somehow got into
circulation before it's official release.
It's Gettin' Better (Man!!)
Available on: Be Here Now
Comments: Written during jamming sessions with the band during their 1996
American tour, this track had it's premiere performance in front of a
concert audience at the Loch Lomond gig on Saturday 3rd August 1996. It was
cut from the Radio 1 Knebworth broadcast as it was unreleased at the time,
but was restored in various bootlegs . Was once likely to replace My Big
Mouth as a single, that honour finally going to D'You Know What I Mean.
Before release the title was mis-spelt in countless different ways.
Alternative Versions: A special performance (the band in Air Studios) was
included on the BBC 1 documentary "Right Here Right Now". Early performances
such as Loch Lomond (4th August - the second ever performance) and Knebworth
are available on bootlegs.
Promos: There are rumours of a 12" remix of this song by Goldie.
(It's Good) To Be Free
Available On: Whatever single and The Masterplan.
Comments: This is an early Oasis song, which they had apparently been doing
for a while before its release. It's working title was Live By The Sea.
Alternative Versions: This song also appears on a cassette given away by Q
magazine in the form of a live version performed for The White Room. On the
tape it's name is given as Good To Be Free.
Promos: There is a 12" UK promo, CTP 195 and the track appears on a two
track (with Acquiesce) CD given away with some French copies of (What's The
Story) Morning Glory - where the brackets aren't included (481020 9).
I Will Believe
Available On: Supersonic single.
Comments: The only commercially available recording of this song is a live
recording, as opposed to a studio version.
Alternative Versions: This song was performed in 1994 at the 100 club. I'm
unsure if that's where the CD version comes from as I have yet to hear it
myself, though I think it may be later than the April release of the single.
I Will Show You
Available on: Unreleased. Live version available on bootleg The Untold
Story.
Comments: An early song which was performed at the Boardwalk in 1991. The
only known version available is a live recording from the Boardwalk.
Lick My Legs
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title. And
what a f**king weird title it is too.
Let's All Make Believe
Available On: Go Let It Out single.
Comments: Hmm, sounds a bit like a comment on the change of lineup for the
band.
Life In Vain
Available on: Unreleased. Live version available on bootleg The Untold
Story.
Comments: Only available as an early concert performance from 1991. This
song is a nice acoustic number which deserves a wider airing.
Listen Up
Available On: Cigarettes & Alcohol single and The Masterplan.
Comments: According to Melody Maker Noel described this as being a "brand
new one" when he performed it at the MTV Unplugged session in August 1996,
despite the fact it was on the Cigarettes & Alcohol single in 1994! The
version on The Masterplan has a slightly shorter solo, at Liam's insistence.
Alternative Versions: Although it didn't make the final MTV broadcast, the
Unplugged performance appears on an MTV Unplugged compilation (volume 2 I
believe, the only Oasis track which does so). There are some live versions
available such as the Commodore Ballroom, Vancouver on the 29th January
1995, and it was performed by Noel on occasions such as in Chicago on 27th
August 1996, when he had to take over the singing duties after Liam flew
home (available on bootleg).
Little James
Available on: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Comments: Yep, written by Liam! It is of course about his stepson, Jim Kerr
and Patsy Kensit's child, James. A nice little tune, actually, even if the
lyrics are a bit simplistic.
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album - probably the same
version.
Live By The Sea
Comments: See (It's Good) To Be Free.
Love
Comments: See Married With Children.
Live Forever
Available on: Definitely Maybe and as a single.
Comments: The song was written by Noel for, and about his mother Peggy (The
cover draws a parallel by showing John Lennon's Aunti Mimi's house). Owen
Morris originally removed the guitar solo, but it was restored after Noel
protested.
Alternative Versions: A live performance from Glastonbury is on the Roll
With It single. One of the best versions I've heard was a stunning acoustic
performance by Noel on Ireland's Late Late Show. Performing straight after
the concert at The Point, Noel delivered renditions of this and Wonderwall.
Live versions are on 'Live By The Sea' and '...There and Then'. In January
1997, NME gave away a tape called "Creation for the Nation" which contains a
stunning demo of this song from 1993 (CREFREE'97). This version was also
later available on a sampler CD available in 1999, "Priceless Creation" (MID
PRICE 02), which was given away when you bought three mid-price promotion
Creation albums.
Promos: CD Promo is CRESC185P.
Video Promo: There are two versions. The standard UK one (filmed in Central
Park, New York) and the US one (the one with Liam at a desk, filmed in
Portland Place, London)
Lock All The Doors
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Lost Again
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Magic Pie
Available on: Be Here Now.
Comments: Noel takes lead vocals , his only vocal on this album. The line
"There are but a thousand days preparing for a thousand years" is borrowed
from a speech by Prime Minister Tony Blair at the Labour Party conference in
Autumn 1996. The Mellotron at the end was built for the Beatles' Abbey Road
sessions.
Alternative Versions: First performed live for the Be Here Now tour, and
available on bootleg. This song was replaced in the standard set list by
Don't Go Away for the Manchester G-Mex broadcast and so does not feature on
it. Noel has performed acoustic versions of Magic Pie, most notably for
French radio.
Married With Children
Available on: Definitely Maybe.
Comments: Inspired by lines spoken by Noel's ex-girlfriend Louise Jones;
"Your music's shite, it keeps me up all night". With slightly different
lyrics, this was originally called Love.
Alternative Versions: There are some live electric versions available on
bootlegs from concert performances, and on the US promo 'Live In Chicago'. A
live version is on the 'Live by the Sea' video.
Mexico/Cream
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, a Cream cover?.
Morning Glory
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ? (strangely enough).
Comments: Was released as a single in the US (with green tinted Roll With It
artwork on the cover). An early working version of this song was called The
Mirror and the Razorblade which I have listed below as it has completely
different lyrics.
Alternative Versions: One of the most interesting versions was performed on
the Letterman show in October '95. Guigsy had pulled out due to exhaustion,
and Oasis's replacement bassist left to go home the day before the
performance..Oasis went aheadwith Bonehead on bass, which makes for
interesting listening. Acoustic versions are available - There's a live
version on '...There and Then', and such a version was recorded for MTV
Unplugged.
Promos: There are promos for the US single in a green sleeve with Roll With
It art.
Video Promo: The band in a room with various weirdness going on outside,
filmed in London.
Must Be The Music
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: An early song which appeared in demo form and was performed live
at early concerts. Very repetitive lyrics.
Alternative Versions: This song was performed live at the Boardwalk, a
bootleg of which also exists (the live version is slightly longer than the
demo recording).
My Big Mouth
Available on: Be Here Now.
Comments: Performed for the first time on August 3rd 1996 at Loch Lomond. It
was cut from the Radio 1 broadcast of Knebworth at the time (as it was not
commercially available at the time) but was restored on bootleg versions.
Originally scheduled to be a single, the replacement, once said to be It's
Gettin' Better (Man!!), then rumoured to be Everyone's A Winner was
eventually D'You Know What I Mean.
Alternative Versions: The Knebworth concert has been bootlegged as has the
Loch Lomond 4th August performance. My Big Mouth was not part of the Be Here
Now setlist, unfortunately. It was performed by Noel on occasions such as in
Chicago on 27th August 1996, when he had to take over the singing duties
after Liam flew home (available on bootleg).
My Friend Says
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
My Generation Cover
Available On: Currently available on bootleg only.
Comments: Cover of The Who classic performed for Radio 1's Evening Session
in 2000. A listener's poll determined what track they did, and annoyingly,
Country House by Blur didn't win. Still, this is quite a nice version.
My Sister Lover
Available On: Stand By Me single.
Comments: Vocals by Noel.
New Faces/(?)
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title,
most likely either a cover or song 'inspired by'.
New Stones/Beret
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title -
either a Rolling Stones cover or 'inspired' song most likely.
Octopus's Garden
Available On: Unreleased, not commercially available (available on bootleg).
Comments: A cover of a Beatles track from Abbey Road, and one by Ringo to
boot. Usually performed by being seamlessly joined onto the end of Whatever.
Alternative Versions: Plenty of bootlegs are available (for example Holland,
10th January 1996), though this track is often not mentioned separately in
the track listing. The Radio 1 broadcast of Knebworth included this track as
part of Whatever.
On A Mission
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
On My Own Unreleased
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Nothing is known about this track.
One Way Road Forthcoming
Available On: Who Feels Love CD single.
Comments: Forthcoming B-side, nothing known other that the title.
Only My Pride
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Paint A Mental Picture
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is
Available On: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
Comments: Contains backing vocals by PP Arnold and Linda Lewis. The lyrics,
according to Noel 'don't meant anything'
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album.
R K La
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Razorbarb
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Possibly another early title for Morning Glory ?
Revolver/ Sleeping
Available On: Unreleased cover.
Comments: Almost certainly a cover of the Beatles' I'm Only Sleeping from
Revolver, this appears in an early Noel song list..
Riverbank/Wind
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Could be two seperate songs.
Rockin' Chair
Available On: Roll With It single and The Masterplan.
Comments: Rockin' Chair was written around 1993, but did not appear until
August '95's Roll With It Single. This is one B-side which is considered by
many, including myself to be better than the A-side. Revealingly, on The
Masterplan album, the writing credits for this song give Chris Griffiths of
the Real People a namecheck along with Noel, something he did not receive on
the single.
Alternative Versions It was performed live several times during 1995, for
example Blackpool 2nd October 1995 (Liam says they've never tried it before
so this is probably the first live performance). The live version differs in
that it is faster, more electric and the lyrics vary -"And maybe I can see
you there (See you there), Rockin' in your Rockin' Chair (Rockin' chair)"
Finishing with "You're not there" repeated to the conclusion by Noel.
Promos: The track appears on a promo for The Masterplan album (SAMPMC6033).
Rock 'n' Roll Star
Available on: Definitely Maybe
Comments: One of the early Oasis songs (a 1993 Boardwalk rehearsal exists)
and one which says it all really.
Alternative Versions: On the first video, and appears on numerous bootlegs.
A version recorded for a 1993 demo tape in Liverpool has a different
emphasis on 'I'm a Rock and Roll Star'. An absolutely fantastic version was
performed for the Evening Session in 2000.
Promos: A French import of Don't Look Back In Anger has a promo featuring a
live version of this song from a Paris '94 performance shrinkwrapped with it
(6627255). There is a US CD promo for this song with picture sleeve.
Video Promo: The promo for the US single is from the Live By The Sea video.
Roll It Over
Available on: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Comments: The guitar solo is played by a friend of Noel's as he was having
trouble working one out at the time. They took the demo of this and played
around with a sample to produce what appears on the album. Noel claims he
can play the solo himself okay though - "honest, guv!"
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album.
Roll With It
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory? and as a single.
Comments: During the performance of the single on TOTP, Noel mimed to Liam's
lyrics while Liam pretended to play the guitar! Noel did a pretty good Liam
impersonation, complete with the usual sneering, and Guigsy just about fell
over from laughing so much! On many recent performances Liam replaces 'don't
let anybody get in your way' with 'don't let any fucker get in your way'.
Alternative Versions: On the second video (complete with 'fucker' lyrics
despite the video being unclassified!).
Promos: There is a 12" UK promo. Australian release has 2 stickers included
(6623255). UK promo is CRESCD212P, 12" CTP 212.
Video Promo: Another video filmed in Kings Cross, London.
Round Are Way
Available On: Wonderwall single.
Comments: When performed live, Oasis usually perform this as one with Up In
The Sky.
Alternative Versions: Live on the second video, with Up In The Sky.
Promos: Available on CD and 12" (CTP 215).
Sad Song
Available On: Definitely Maybe - Vinyl only bonus track, some imports, as a
free CD and on the Japanese Don't Go Away single.
Comments: This song has been performed on several occasions, unlike the
second album's vinyl only track, and is available on some import versions of
Definitely Maybe. To celebrate its 5th birthday, this song was given away on
a CD by The Big Issue In Scotland, and was available with that issue from
street vendors for one week only, making it pretty collectable! That version
is better than the one on the Japanese Don't Go Away, which mixes it
slightly with another track.
Alternative Versions: A live version appears on the first video, and the
song has been performed several times such as Manchester Academy, December
1994 (available on bootleg).
Promos: A French two track CD contains this song (SAMP2347), as do some CD
imports of Definitely Maybe (on a seperate CD).
See The Sun
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: An early song, one of the better ones, which appeared in demo
form.
Alternative Versions: I am unaware of an live versions.
Setting Sun
Available On: Bootleg (Oasis/Noel version).
Comments: I'm including this track here as Noel performed a great acoustic
version for Italian radio in Milan, has since performed it live eg in
Australia and the lyrics (& possibly the tune) were his originally anyway.
Alternative Versions: Commercially available as a Chemical Brothers track
(see below).
Shakermaker
Available on: Definitely Maybe and as a single.
Comments: Oasis were successfully sued over this track as it resembled 'I'd
like to teach the world to sing'by the New Seekers too much for Coke's
lawyers. An acoustic bootleg (from the Undrugged show) informs us that 'now
we all drink Pepsi'.
Alternative Versions: Performed live at various concerts and available on
bootleg (for example Glasgow Tramway 7/4/94 or Wolverhampton Civic Hall
11/12/94).
Promos: A French import of Don't Look Back In Anger has a promo featuring a
live version of this song from a Paris '94 performance - see Rock 'n' Roll
Star.
Video Promo: Unlike it's predecessor and successor this single has one
promo, filmed in Didsbury, Manchester.
She's Electric
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?.
Comments: Apparently Liam wanted this excellent song to be a single, but
Noel disagreed.Partly influenced by the theme to kids programme 'You and
Me', and the nine-note coda is knicked from the Beatles' 'With A Little Help
From My Friends'.
Shelter From The Fall
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Slide Away
Available on: Definitely Maybe and Whatever single and on US Champagne
Supernova single (all versions identical).
Comments: Written during early studio sessions for the album, and considered
to so good it had to go on. Liam's voice is certainly unique here. Lacks the
"WHAT FOR!?!" cry from Noel and Liam incorporated into later live
performances, fortunately. A version performed by Noel in 1998 added "And I
wanna try now/ gonna make you mine now " just before this. Most likely about
Noel's ex-girlfriend Louise Jones.
Alternative Versions: Available on 'Live By The Sea', and there are plenty
of live bootlegs - acoustic and electric, some sung by Noel, available.
Promos: A CD promo created for the Brit Awards exists (CCD169 - a variation
on the Definitely Maybe catalogue number). The Brits promo has a nice photo
cover of the band.
Slow
Available On: Forthcoming?
Comments: A song which was said to be appearing on the fourth album,
described by ex-producer Owen Morris as "heartbreaking". This may be one of
the SOTSOG tracks with an early title.
Snake Byte
Available on: Unreleased. Demo version available on bootleg The Untold Story
as Snakebite.
Comments: An early song which was performed at the Boardwalk in 1991. The
only known version available is a demo recording. This song is similar in
some ways to the material on the first album. Previously known as Snakebite
this is the correct spelling, from an early notebook auctioned at Christies.
So She Wakes Up
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Solve My Mystery
Available On: Unreleased, available on bootleg, with Noel on vocals.
Comments: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants demo which may be used as a
future B-side. Another track to leak out before being officialy released.
Some Might Say
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?, as a single and as a
Japanese single with exclusive tracks.
Comments: This song was drummer Tony McCaroll's last for the band, and as
such he features in the promo video.
Alternative Versions: A demo version appears on the Japanese version of the
single (Epic/Sony ESCA 6251) and on the CD given away by the Independent in
2000. The demo is slower, and is sung by Noel. Live versions appear on both
of the first two official Oasis videos. An unusual performance of this song
was given by Noel on MTV Unplugged, and the first ever acoustic version was
played by Noel in Australia in 1998. There is a live version on a French
promo CD listed below.
Promos: There is a UK 1-track promo CD (CCD 204, 350 copies) and a 4-track
(CRESCD204P).
A live version appears on a French promo 12-track with various artists on it
(RSCD003).
Somebody Home
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Son Of Flower
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Stand By Me
Available on: Be Here Now and as a single.
Comments: This song was first mentioned in a Select interview in 1996. The
guitar riff after the chorus (a quick C-F-D-G change if you're playing a
simplified version) has been appropriated from Mott The Hopple's 'All The
Young Dudes' - just listen to it! Second and to date last UK Oasis single in
a card case.
Alternative Versions: A special live acoustic performance was included on
the BBC 1 documentary "Right Here Right Now". The concert version is
generally electric, and appears on several bootlegs, but acoustic
performances are also available.
Promos: CD is CRESCD 278P. Euro promo is SAPMCS4621/CCD278X and Mexican
promo is PRCD97113.
Video Promo: Oasis play for Radio Supernova as tragedy is imminent for
arguing twin sisters. Filmed on location in Feltham, Middlesex.
Stand By Me (2)
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, which shares nothing but the title from the above.
Stay Young
Available On: D'You Know What I Mean single,The Masterplan and as a Japanese
only single.
Comments: First played live as part of the Be Here Now tour, perhaps a
reflection of its general perception of being much better than any album
tracks with "Magic" and "Pie" in the title. Was going to be on the album,
but Noel decided on Magic Pie. Doh! Japanese single comes with a sticker.
Alternative Versions: There are several available on various bootlegs (such
as Earl's Court, Denmark etc.). Noel has also performed live acoustic
versions on several occasions.
Step Out
Available On: Don't Look Back In Anger single.
Comments: This song was originally scheduled to appear on (What's The Story)
Morning Glory?, but when it was noticed that the song strongly resembled
Stevie Wonder's Uptight, Wonder's lawyers moved in and it was removed (he is
credited as a co-writer on the single). The song also resembles Bob Seger's
'Rosalie'. Promo copies of the album do however have the song intact as
track 8 on the CD (CRESCD189P).
Strange Thing
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg Rags To Riches.
Comments: A song recorded as part of the group's first proper demo tape at
the Real People's Studio in Liverpool in 1993, along with other songs, all
of which made it onto Definitely Maybe or B-sides except this - reason
unknown. It was apparently recorded on two dates at the studio. (The other
songs on the demo tape were Rock 'n' Roll Star, Bring It On Down, Fade Away,
Columbia, Cloudburst, D'yer Wanna Be A Spaceman? and Married With Children).
Street Fighting Man Cover
Available On: All Around The World single.
Comments: Rolling Stones Cover.
Suitcase Song
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the rather
intriguing title!
Sunday Morning Call
Available On: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
Comments: About someone famous who Noel won't name, but it's widely reckoned
to be Kate Moss.
Supersonic
Available on: Definitely Maybe and as a single.
Comments: The single was their debut release. There are some nice acoustic
versions available on bootleg recordings. The song has been pretty unvarying
since it's release, except perhaps at Glastonbury '95 when a member of the
audience tried to egg them and Liam decided he would 'take you all!' and
'make you crawl'! The Elsa in the song was inspired by engineer Dave Scott's
constantly farting rottweiler dog Elsa which sounded like it must have
consumed an entire packet of Alka Seltzer, and the BMW was Bonehead's. It's
possible that the working title was Helicopter Doctor, and another early
song Alka Seltzer also had its title used in Supersonic.
Alternative Versions: Both of the first two Oasis videos have live versions,
and there are hundreds of bootlegged versions. and there is a blue-label 12"
promo (CRE176TP, 3 tracks).
Video Promo: There are two versions. The standard UK one (on a rooftop,
Kings Cross, London) and the US one (various US locations in Southern
California such as a place with large dinosaurs!)
Take Me Unreleased
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: An early song which was performed at the Boardwalk in 1991, and
was one of the original Oasis demos. Undoubtedly the star of the original
'92 demo tape and early live performances. This song could seriously use a
re-recording and release. Liam and Bonehead composed this number and Liam
doesn't want it released, unlike Noel who has enthused over it.
Alternative Versions: As well as the demo, there is a live version from the
Boardwalk available.
Take Me Away
Available On: Supersonic single, and on a Kosovo benefit album.
Comments: Has the first cocaine reference in an Oasis song.
Alternative Versions: There's several live versions available on bootleg,
such as December 1994 show at Manchester Academy (where it's erroneously
entitled "Some Night").
Take Your Chances
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, about which nothing is known other than the title.
Talk Tonight
Available on: Some Might Say single and The Masterplan.
Comments: Written by Noel after a falling out with Liam in the US and
recorded a few days later in Austin, Texas. Also available on a Q magazine
tape from a live performance by Noel with Paul Weller from The White Room.
Appears on 'Live By The Sea'.
Promos: The track appears on a promo for The Masterplan album (SAMPMC6033).
Teotihuacan
Available On: The X-Files: The Album (Elektra 7559-62266-2)
Comments: Noel wrote this rather good instrumental track, which appears on
the 1998 X-Files movie soundtrack. The title is the name of an ancient
Mexican city.
The Fame
Available On: All Around The World single.
Comments: A song about people who say how fame has changed Oasis.
The Girl In The Dirty Shirt
Available on: Be Here Now
Comments: Mentioned by Noel for the first time in the introduction to 1996
concert programmes, where it was listed as The Girl With The Dirty
Shirt.Noel's girlfriend Meg was the girl with the dirty shirt (she was
ironing a dirty shirt in Brighton, probably December 29th 1994, as she had
forgotten to bring enough clean clothes!) . The chord structure is from the
Beatles' 'Cry Baby Cry' (on the White Album aka The Beatles).
Alternative Versions: A live acoustic version was performed by Noel in
Dublin on the 5th of December 1997 after Liam pulled out due to throat
difficulties - a concert which was broadcast on radio in Ireland and is
available on bootleg.
The Masterplan
Available On: Wonderwall single and The Masterplan album.
Comments: Was performed live in the Oasis set, updated to give it a more
bluesy feel (harmonica introduction etc.). At the second Loch Lomond gig,
the song broke down, with Noel accusing Bonehead of missing his cue, then
finding out the problem was with the sound engineering. He didn't apologise
and threatened to sack the sound crew instead. This track was given away on
a CD from Q magazine, "1998:Best" (issue 148).
Alternative Versions: You can hear a live version of the song on '...There
and Then'. It was also performed for MTV's Unplugged in a similar way. There
are other bootlegs available with The Masterplan, such as Loch Lomond 4th
August and Knebworth.
Promos: This song appears on a 4-track in-store promo CD to promote the
singles box-sets (OASIS P96/1) on promos for the B-sides album (see above)
and on a promo for The Masterplan album (SAMPMC6033).
The Mirror And The Razorblade
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: An early working version of Morning Glory but with completely
different lyrics. The first lines are: The Mirror and the Razorblade, If you
live round here it's where your dreams are made.
The Red, The White & The Blue
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: A patriotic track whose name has been bandied around for ages, it
was confirmed to exist on a sheet of notes by Noel auctioned at Christies.
There it was listed, possibly as a shorthand, as Red White + Blue.
Apparently it has been performed 'at a fan club show' which is a bit odd as
Oasis don't have an official fan club.
The Swamp Song
Available On: Wonderwall single and The Masterplan.
Comments: Extracts appear on (What's The Story) Morning Glory ?, but are
unnamed (Tracks 6 and 11). Was used to introduce Oasis's set, but not always
live (for example the Knebworth and Loch Lomond intros were not live, but
accompanied a series of Oasis video clips on the giant screens).Paul Weller
wrote and plays the harmonica part on the studio version. Alan White's
drumming is from the Glastonbury performance in 1995. The name is apparently
meaningless, and the song had the working title of The Jam.
Alternative Versions: A live version appears on '...There and Then', and the
song has been performed live on various occasions such as Glastonbury '95.
This Guy's In Love With You
Available On: Unreleased. Available on bootleg.
Comments: Burt Bacharach cover, performed live by Noel at a Bacharach
concert. The concert was broadcast on radio 2. The connection is not as
strange as you may think - if you look at the cover of Definitely Maybe
there is a Bacharach album propped up against the sofa.
To Be Someone
Available On: Forthcoming Jam Tribute Album
Comments: Oasis (or Noel) have covered this Jam song for a tribute album,
and it has been performed on several occasions by Noel at Oasis concerts.
Tracksuit Bottoms
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Appallingly titled early song (try discussing that one seriously),
lyrics include 'I've been watching you/You over there in your tracksuit
bottoms/What's your problem with the world?'
Up In The Sky
Available on: Definitely Maybe.
Comments: When performed live, it is usually directly preceded by Round Are
Way, with no break. The Second song played on the night Oasis were
discovered by Alan McGee (amateur video footage exists).
Alternative Versions: Appears on the first video on its own and with Round
Are Way on the second. There are numerous bootleg versions around though
only Round Are Way may be listed if they are being played together.
Underneath The Sky
Available On: Don't Look Back In Anger single and The Masterplan.
Comments: The guitar part is similar to Blondie's 'Call Me'. Noel has cited
this as one of his favourite songs, and asked for it to be included on the
B-sides album.
Alternative Versions: Presumably because he was revisiting it for The
Masterplan, Noel performed an acoustic version of this song in 1998 on
French radio - the only alternative version I know of.
Whatever
Available As: A single.
Comments: The only Oasis single that isn't also available on an album. It
was released as a special Christmas single in December 1994. It's been
mentioned elsewhere that this song rips off Neil Innes' 'Idiot Song' which
featured in a Monty Python performance and it does indeed sound like it (you
can hear it on the Monty Python Drury Lane release). In an interview Neil
Innes said "Paul McCartney's brother Mike phoned to say he'd heard Whatever
on the radio and it sounded very much like a song I did called How Sweet To
Be An Idiot. EMI's lawyers followed it up and I now own a quarter of the
song". French release has a free sticker (HES6610791). The 7" was a limited,
numbered release.
Alternative Versions: Versions recorded for MTV's Most Wanted and MTV
Unplugged included some extra lyrics - "All the young Blues carry the news'
(a tip to Mott The Hopple's 'All The Young Dudes' - via Man City,
presumably!). Some live versions have continued seamlessly into The Beatles'
Octopus's Garden (such as Knebworth or Utrecht, Holland Jan 10th 1996). On
some occasions the song has been played very electrically - Wolverhampton
Civic Hall in December '94 for example.
Promos: A 12" one-sided vinyl promo also exists (CRE195TP, 560 copies). Euro
promo SAMP2529 also exists (2 tracks).
Video Promo: studio based promo filmed in Wimbledon, London.
Where Did It All Go Wrong?
Available on: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Comments: was going to be the title of the fourth album, but that would be
asking for trouble in reviews and Noel didn't want to name another album
after a song-title.
Who Feels Love
Available on: Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants
Comments: Written in Thailand, and injected with a bit of New York,
according to Noel! It's the next single, out April 17th. The video was shot
in Death Valley, California.
Alternative Versions: Appears on demo session for album.
(Who One!)
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Listed in Noel's early 90's notebook of song's he's written, this
either means a performance of a song by The Who or a song in their style,
which is why it's included here.
Whole Lotta Love Unreleased Cover
Available on: Unreleased. Available on bootleg (eg Sydney, Australia 3rd
March 1998).
Comments: On several occasions, such as the above Sydney gig, Oasis have
continued from Cigarettes & Alcohol into this Led Zeppelin song.
Wonderwall
Available on: (What's The Story) Morning Glory ? and as a single.
Comments: Written on the same day as Cast No Shadow.There are many versions;
normally when performed live the lyrics are often slightly altered. A great
extra line "There are many songs that I would like to sing to you" was
included in the excellent Late Late Show Noel acoustic performance, and in
other performances, such as the Earls court shows.
Alternative Versions: A live version is legally available on the "Later
Presents Britbeat" album (Island Records/BBC) and another on the CD
'...There and Then' (from Earl's Court) given away with the video as well as
yet another version on the video.
Promos: Promo is CRESCD 215P. The Spanish promo contains the disc with no
promo markings in a white case.
Video Promo: Mainly monochrome video shot in Woolich.
You Owe Me
Available On: Unreleased.
Comments: Early song, noted by Noel to have a ''Fixing a Hole' Middle 8'.
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
Available on: Japanese Some Might Say single (Epic/Sony ESCA 6251).
Comments: Wonderful cover version of the Beatles song, It was recorded for
Aids Awareness Day and broadcast on Radio 1. The only completely Oasis track
completely unavailable on any UK release (obviously the non-demo version of
Some Might Say was a single).
Section III: Also available..
Here are some details of some other Oasis music recordings that are
available commercially or exist, in addition to the official ones mentioned
elsewhere.
Untitled Jam #1
Available On: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: A soundcheck recording jam from the US in October '94 which
appears on a bootleg. More interesting than I remembered..and is that part
of Champagne Supernova in an early form that I recognise in there?
Untitled Jam#2
Available On: Unreleased. Available on bootleg The Untold Story.
Comments: A soundcheck recording jam from the US in October '94 which
appears on a bootleg. Quite listenable, as it's something
different...occasionally you may think you recognise the odd riff or two.
'Jam'
Available On: Bootlegs of the Sydney, Australia 3rd March 1998 gig.
Comments: A jam performed as part of the above concert, available on
bootlegs of the concert.
Shitelife
Available On: Noel and Liam head-shaped Interview discs (see later).
Comments: A short and allegedly spontaneous attack on Blur's 'Park Life'
from the 1996 Brit Awards. Available on the shaped Interview Discs (see
below) and was broadcast on Radio 1 (only about 15 seconds long!). Noel
suggested in a post-Brits interview that the title was Marmite, but most
people seem to prefer this one!
5-4-3-2-1
Available On: Right There Right Then documentary.
Comments: Whilst recalling their mother bringing them home biscuits from the
McVitie's factory where she worked, Noel and Liam sang a bit of this Manfred
Mann song that was adapted to advertise the biscuit '5-4-3-2-1' on the
'Right There Right Then' documentary. It was a brief, off-the cuff thing but
I'll put it here for a laugh as someone'll probably bootleg it! They didn't
sing the 'tasty, crumbly caramel chocolate' bit...
Section IV: Tracks featuring Oasis members
Come Together Cover
Cover of the Beatles classic for the Help album, featuring Noel with Paul
McCartney and Paul Weller as the Smokin' Mojo Filters. (Available as a
single; Go Discs GOD CD 136)
Day Tripper (With Ocean Colour Scene) Cover
A cover of the Beatles song was performed by OCS with Liam and Noel at an
Ocean Colour Scene gig at the Electric Ballroom, NW1 on 9th May 1996 It was
played on Chris Evans' Breakfast Show on Radio 1 several times and is
available on the Acoustic version of Ocean Colour Scene's The Circle single
(MCA MCSXD 40077)
Love Me And Leave Me
This Seahorses song was co-penned by Liam and John Squire and is available
as a single.
Setting Sun
Originally dubbed Tomorrow Never Noels by some not very witty people, this
is a Chemical Brothers track with lyrics by Noel. Initially appeared on
acetate in clubs and is available as a single. Noel performed an acoustic
solo version of this song for radio, and has performed it at some concerts -
eg in Australia in 1998.
Let Forever Be
A second Chemical Brothers track with lyrics and vocals by Noel.
Others
There are other tracks featuring Oasis members, such as a Paul Weller track
on which Noel plays acoustic guitar (on Stanley Road), the Echo & The
Bunnymen track on which Liam sings backing vocals, and Goldie's Temper
Temper on which Noel plays guitar.
Section V: Liam's Songs, The Rain and further back..
Liam's Songs
Liam has written at least six of his own songs (in addition to his co-penned
Take Me which was performed live at an early gig). One of the songs is
called The Lost Chord, another, Little James , is his first published
composition, being on Standing On The Shoulder of Giants. Liam has said he
will never do a solo album (though Noel has said he might put out a solo
single whilst remaining in Oasis), but Noel allowing him to put at least one
song on the album is a sign that we may yet hear more from him in this
capacity.
The Rain
Little is known about the pre-Oasis band. However, one track has been
mentioned by Noel and Bonehead; A version of Wild Thing played at a pub
exists on a video filmed by Noel and so is worth a mention here. The band
consisted of Bonehead, Guigsy ("18 stone at the time" according to
Bonehead), 'another guy'- the singer, whose name was Chris Hutton, and a
drum machine. The lyrics were slightly altered and included, according to
Noel:
Wild Thing, Let's smoke, draw. Let's Get stoned some more.
Bonehead has expressed a desire to break into Noel's home and destroy the
video.
Even Further Back In Time
Recently a tape came to light, given to an acquaintance by Noel in 1988. On
this inconspicuous Boots 60 minute cassette were eight of Noel's earliest
songs. The tape, called Noel's Tunes has a handwritten Noel tracklist. One
tune was previously known (Baj) but the rest were unheard of. The tracks
were (in order):
Womb To Tomb
Apparently a Smiths influenced track, this includes the lyrics 'what's the
point?', 'You have to sacrifice all pleasures to buy a home' and 'why do you
run, why do you hide?'
Baj
This was Noel's first ever song (it's likely he meant to call it Badge) with
such inspiring lyrics as 'And on your badge it says "wear a badge"'.
I Am The Man -
This track includes such lyrics as 'I am the man, 'cos I said so.' and
'C'mon tell me who are you?'
England
Includes the line 'I hope there is an atomic war, and a great big bomb
bounces through my door.'
I Don't Think So!
A conversational track which includes the lines '"Have you found a new
boyfriend?|" "No I don't want to bet"'
What's It Got To Do With You?
Ends with the line 'It's got nothing to do with you.'
No Cause For Alarm!
Riff is from The Beatles track 'You Never Give Me Your Money'. Lyrics
include 'Do you ever see the light? Do you feel alive tonight?'
Have Fun!!
Another track which takes its influences from The Smiths. Lyrics include
'Keep believing in yourself, only you can help yourself, you've gotta have
fun.'
Section VI: Interview Discs
Wibbling Rivalry
Infamous interview which includes Noel and Liam having one hell of an
argument in Glasgow in 1994. Widely available on CD now (Fierce Panda, NING
12 CD), but initially only 1000 copies were available, as a 7" vinyl.
Interview Disc #1 (Liam)
A Liam's head-shaped CD which contains two tracks, both of which are the
same - not an interview at all, but a two minute recording of their speech
at the last Brit Awards. I would seriously recommend that you think twice
about buying this for anything other than completism - Oasis have described
the CDs as bootlegs (you could get them from HMV, though they seem to have
been withdrawn) and said "Don't buy". Both of these are available in uncut
form as promos of which only 100 were made.
Interview Disc #2 (Noel)
Identical contents and comments to the above. Again the actual CD is shaped,
Noel's-headed this time. Contents exactly as on the first disc. Completists
only, and even then only if you're desperate for something to buy.
Oasis - Interview Disc & Fully Illustrated Book
Now this is more like it. A Limited Edition CD produced by Sound And Media
with Virgin Publishing. The book is 120 page & CD-sized and is beautifully
illustrated and quite informative though it's unlikely you'll find anything
you haven't heard before in the text. The CD is a one hour interview with
Noel and Bonehead conducted in the US in March 1995 and is pretty damn
good - it has some very informative stuff about the first album and the
band's early days. (Sound and Media/Virgin Publishing SAM 7023)
Oasis - The Story and the Glory
A 35-minute interview CD with fold-out booklet, costing more than the above
CD.
Oasis - The Westwood One Interviews
Interviews conducted on 18th December 1995 for US radio, available on CD for
the first time. Also available as the only Oasis vinyl 12" picture disc (UFO
Music, no catalogue number).
Oasis: The Noel Interview
30 minute interview with "England's highly eccentric Chris Tetley". No, I've
never heard of him either. Comes with plectrum, which has the word 'Oasis'
on it. Wow. Part of the 'Rock Interviews' series. Despite claiming to have
detailed liner notes about the interview, there is nothing about when it was
conducted, my guess is during 1996. (RVCD 233).
The Oasis Interview
Another interview in a nice cover, haven't heard it yet.
Getting High
Yet another interview, this time a limited double CD set, CONV001.
Sally Can Wait
Appallingly badly named interview CD - CONV006.
Section VII: Unofficial Commercial Videos
Oasis - Don't Look Back/ The Long and Winding Road (Videos)
Imagine taping a few Oasis interviews off the telly. Now imagine copying
this tape a lot until the quality is shit and then putting the tape into a
nice cover and charging money for it. Unbelievably, that's exactly what
you've got here. Most fans will have a better collection of clips than these
videos, and in better quality. The first tape consists of clips such as
Channel 4 News's coverage of Knebworth and Noel on TFI Friday. The quality
is exceedingly poor, which suggests that despite being on sale in HMV, these
videos are illegal off-air recordings. Avoid at all costs.
Oasis - The True Story (Behind their Glory)
Another cash-in video with NO band footage. Interviews include Oasis fans. I
wouldn't buy this if I was so rich I could wipe my arse with the sleeve of
the I Am The Walrus white label promo every time I took a dump, ie it is not
a good idea to buy this :-)
Section VIII: Other Recordings
Oasis - What's The Story?
This Radio 1 documentary, originally transmitted on 3rd September 1995 and
repeated in an updated form tells the Oasis story with the help of the band,
and is pretty good. I'm mentioning it here because it was given away in
edited form with VOX magazine (VOXDOC96), so is worth tracking down as a
collectable if you don't have it. The edits were, in the main, the removal
of some songs - originally the documentary was made to promote the second
album and included previews of some of the tracks.
Take Me There - Oasis The Story
Spoken word version of Paul Mathur's book, available on CD and double
cassette. The narration is by Mark Radcliffe. Not bad at all (Listen For
Pleasure LFP 8003).
Section IX: Information Digest

Every track track on (What's The Story) Morning Glory except Hey Now!
and She's Electric (The Swamp Song has been performed live in full, not
extract form, obviously!)
Every track on Be Here Now except I Hope, I Think, I Know and All
Around The World (Reprise) - the normal version has of course been
performed.

commercially.
Miscellaneous trivia
Definitely Maybe cover trivia: The room pictured is Bonehead's front
room in Manchester - "I'm gonna find a rich Oasis fan and sell me house to
them because there's gotta be a bit of value there, hasn't there?!". The
picture leaning against the sofa Noel is sitting on is actually a fold-out
from a double album and features Burt Bacharach (songwriter). The picture at
the fireplace is Rodney Marsh (footballer) and the one on the windowsill is
George Best (footballer). The Movie on the television is 'The Good, The Bad
and The Ugly', one of Noel and Bonehead's favourite films. Above on the
right is a globe. The idea, expressed on the back cover ,was 'he's got the
whole world in his hands'. It was suspended by from the roof on fishwire and
taped to the roof. According to Bonehead it "it made a mess of my ceiling
because when we pulled the gaffer tape off it pulled half me ceiling down".
The fags are Benson and Hedges (now we're getting pedantic!)
(What's The Story) Morning Glory ? had a working title of Flash In The
Pan. The people on the cover are sleeve designer Brian Cannon (going away
from camera) and someone called Shaun Roley coming towards the camera. It
was photographed in Berwick Street in London's Soho. The photo used, the
first of the shoot, was taken at 4:30am. In the background, just to the
right of the red shop-front near the centre of the picture, you can see
producer Owen Morris, holding up a master tape of the album!
Be Here Now at one point had a working title of Fuck 'Em All Because We
Don't Care.
Be Here Now is a quote from John Lennon, a track from George Harrison's
1973 album 'Living In The Material World' and also the name of a book by
Harvard academic Richard Alpert which concerns itself with "the Vedic
teaching that to dwell in the past or the future is to be dead to the
present".
The date on the calendar on the cover of Be Here Now was the album's
release date, and this is different for different parts of the world. The
international version was released on August 26th 1997 as opposed to the
UK's 21st August and has a different date on the cover's calendar to signify
this fact.
The registration of the Rolls Royce on the cover of Be Here Now is SYO
724F, the same as that of the police van on the cover of the Beatles' Abbey
Road album.
The cover for Be Here Now was photographed at the Stocks Hotel in
Aldbury near Trin, Herts in April 1997 as seen in several TV productions
including The Avengers.
Standing On The Shoulder of Giants had a working title of Where Did It
All Go Wrong? which is of course one of its tracks.

It was cheaper taking a girl out for a night, than taking our Liam to
the match. It was like Pacman versus English soccer. If City had scored
as many goals as items of food that he ate, they'd have won the double.
He must have had a stomach like Dr.Who's Tardis- small outside, huge
inside. When I'd protest to our mam and ask why Noel couldn't take him
to the match, she'd say "Noel's too dopey. He'll start daydreaming and
forget Liam's there and lose him".
lol, i don't have THAT much spare time ;)
ALL AROUND THE WORLD
Any more info on this "live" mail order version - I thought it was
just the regular studio version with a different cover?
ACQUIESCE
The two track French CD mentioned with (It's Good) To Be Free features
LIVE versions of both tracks not just the studio tracks. Other live
versions available on the SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE VOLUME 2 CD and a US
promo CD which also features an interview to promote The Masterplan
compilation.
BE HERE NOW
A UK promo CD features an absolutely amazing live version of this song
that puts the album version to shame.
DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER
A live acoustic version available on the CD THE VERY BEST OF MTV
UNPLUGGED.
Initial copies in some territories credit the track as a Noel Gallagher
performance but reissues list Oasis as the artist.
FUCKIN' IN THE BUSHES
Some (all?) US copies of the album list the track as XXXXin' In The
Bushes and
technically this is a different mix as the offending word is faded
every time it appears but the music still continues at normal volume.
GAS PANIC!!
Demo officially released on the Japanese WHO FEELS LOVE CD single.
GO LET IT OUT
A UK promo CD features the demo version.
I AM THE WALRUS
The version on THE MASTERPLAN is heavily edited. The full version is on
the CIGARETTES & ALCOHOL single.
MARRIED WITH CHILDREN
The live electric performance on the LIVE BY SEA video was also
released on an official CD called 104.9XFM (I don't have any other
info other than it sounds like a compilation album to plug a radio
station).
ROCKIN' CHAIR
The US WONDERWALL CD single includes a remix of this track that creates
a hard
intro for the song rather than a fade in.
ROCK'N'ROLL STAR
A live version is on the NME MAGAZINE GLASTONBURY BROADCASTS VOLUME 1
CD.
TALK TONIGHT
The US mix from their WONDERWALL CD single omits some of the studio
chat at the
start but towards the end Liam comes across loud and clear in the mix
asking for batteries. Bizarre.
WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG
A US promo CD features a nice "semi-acoustic" version of this song.

Have only listed Liam and Noel's solo work if they sing lead vocal.
Someone did this a long time ago, but I spose if I
could remember who, the list if probably outdated
now. Search google groups perhaps?
