yeah its very blatant isnt it?
Stay Young....the verses are almost identical at the beginning ("One way out is
all your ever gonna get... and "Poor old grannie..." etc.). Plus, musically,
the chords are really close. Also, its the Faces, not just Rod the Bod by
himself.

the beta band song in question is 'dry the rain'
the riff from 'morning glory' is remarkably similar to rem's 'the one i

I've always disagreed with this overstated notion, as far as their rip-offs
go this one is very minor and only matches up to a small portion in the
beginning of the verses.

Only Stand By Me, if you ask me...
> How Sweet To Be An Idiot (Neil Innes) - Whatever
> This Guy's In Love With You (Burt Bacharach) - Half The World Away
Hmm, might be a few similarities, but i don't think they're that alike...
> Flying (Beatles) - Shakermaker
Shakermaker's not a ripoff of any Beatles song, only of I'd Like To Teach
The World To Sing, as those songs are 100% alike....
> Standing Here (Stone Roses) - *No idea*

Make a Richey James and dissapear for ever....
Going Nowhere- rips off "Rocket Man" by Elton John
Where Did It All Go Wrong- part of chorus is form PWs "Sunflower"
GLIO- rips off Johnny Jenkins' version of "I Wlak On Gilded
Splinters" which was originally written/perf. by Dr. John.
Beck sampled (though did not credit, to my knowledge) the song
for "Loser" which is of course the blueprint for most of the
Beta shtick- they took it for "Dry The Rain." The poem is an
oldy, and i forget what it's called. of a religious nature, it
was adapted by The Heptones for "Book Of Rules" (mentioned in
poem) and that's really where noel took the lyrics from. NME
erroniously reported that it was form a Booby & The Midnights
(Grateful Dead off-shoot) album where they covered the song.
Who Feels Love?- the beginning is a complete copy of TSRs "Ten
Story Love Song."
Digusy's Diner- not many people have mentioned this, but it
doesn't exactly "rip off" but strongly resembles "Little Miss
Queen Of Darkness" by the Kinks.
She's Electric- verse/chorus change (or maybe verse/bridge or
something) is taken from "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."
Roll It Over- "doesn't make it alright" is from "and you know
that it's right" from "Something In The Air" by Thunderclap
Newman.
there are more. where is this list archived (or is it)?? thanks.

Secondly - If you disect any song like that and compare it to every other
half way decent (not saying I like Elton John here, just some people do, so
it has to be classed as decent music) music, then your gonna find something
that sounds similar.
And whats so bad about it anyway - the beatles ripped off Buddy Holly and
blues stuff from the 50's, and the stones went round the black musicians
who at the time no-one white listened to, and ripped them off rotten

Maybe not, but he'll make sure they'll survive,
