The Band "A" was interviewed on a german TV Channel. It goes something like this:

Interviewer: What do you think about Noel walking out from Oasis?
A: "Well, maybe he left the band to get some press...."

Interviewer: What do you think about British music in general:
A: "We don't care, they do what they do!"

Interviewer: Lately I had an interview with Liam Gallagher. I went to the Hotel
room where it should take place and a men came out of this room and cried. I
thought oh my god, did Liam beat him up? I enterd the room and Liam was playing the
piano, guess what song?
A: "Our new single??"
Interviewer: No, he played "Imagine" by John Lennon!

hmm, I recently read some opinions from American stars on
Oasis in some bio, either Hewitt or Mathur or I don't know, I
don't have time to find the exact words but here's a resume:

- Michael Stipe from REM loves them

- Courtney Love hates them

- Madonna says she doesn't care - she was invited to some
big concert (probably Maine Road) when she was in UK
some years ago and she said she wouldn't go just for the
press if she didn't like the band, so she got someone to
send her a CD (cos of course the likes of Madonna don't
just go to the shops like any common mortal!) and she just
wasn't impressed, it meant nothing to her. perhaps her new
British boyfriend will have made her change her mind in the
meantime!

- of course then there was the usual bashing from US
grunge-like bands

- you all know the "opinion" of Take That Robbie, Damon
Albarn and mates, and on the other side the appreciation of
Bobbie Gillespie, Mani, Richard Aschcroft and all those who
are mates with Oasis. Pete Townshend said Liam is
beautiful like a Greek god (perhaps he wants to compete
with Robbie in his latest gay-pride challenge). ex-Smiths
Johnny Marr was the first to support them. Paul McCartney I
think did a u-turn and they're not friends anymore. Keith
Richards slagged them off. Travis' Fran Healey adores
them. they have a few proper tribute bands and attempted
clones (Embrace) and a horde of imitators who would deny
all charges.

there, I've done my homework :-)

I got these quotes from here:

http://www.geocities.com/Paris/3019/cloudburst.html

DARCY (from the Smashing Pumpkins):
Oasis are the best band since Lennon & McCartney.

LARS ULRICH (from Metalica):
Oasis have got the best singer, they're the biggest band in the world and
they've sold more albums than anybody else, except for us.

SHERYL CROW:
I love oasis. I love the fact that they can always keep me amused. How
idiotic can one band be?

DARCY (when accepting award for best rock act at MTV Europe Awards):
This should've gone to Oasis because they are the best rock band since the
Beatles.

BECK (talking about Liam's performance at the MTV Music Awards):
I liked it when he spit on the stage, it was so non-punk that it was punk
all over again.

RINGO STARR:
Do you know why E.L.O. split up? Cos they ran out of Beatles' tunes. The
same thing'll happen to Oasis.

JUSTINE FRISCHMANN (from Elastica):
Liam's brians are as big a hamster's. I mean as big as a hamster's brain,
not as big as the whole hamster.

Actually Molly, if I understood your post right, you say Robbie Williams
doesn't like them. That's not true. On more than a few occasions
(Glastonbury being the most talked about), Robbie (Like George Michael) has
taken enormous pleasure in telling everyone he thinks Oasis are the best
band in the world (And why not, he's spent the last 6 years trying to be
Liam Gallagher.). It wasn't till Liam started slagging off Blobbie that
Blobbie did an about-turn and changed his mind.

really? the two bands had a bit of a bust up when oasis supported rem
on the monster tour. the result being that oasis pulled out of the gig in
huddersfield - meaning that i will probably die never having seen

I saw Chris from sloan at the Toronto gig at the gardens... he was too far away
for me to catch up to him without looking like some sort of freak, not to
mention it was my 19th birthday the day after the gig, so i was a bit

In 1995 Blur was on MTV news and Alex James said "All I know is that we're bigger
than Oasis." and Damon said "But we're not" Alex said "we are in Denmark." Hehe not
that this is any new information, but I had it memorized haha. Does anyone have
that interview with Oasis and Blur when they were on KROQ together? It was funny
the way Liam/Noel and Damon/Alex were competing. People would call in and ask to
speak to Oasis or Blur and so they were cheering anytime anyone called in for Oasis
and so on. Liam said something like Oasis was the Blue team and Blur was the red
team. Damon was acting really snobby on that radio show. I love that interview.

I have that....its on a bootleg CD called "getting high".... but it wasn't at
KROQ/Los Angeles, the blur/oasis interview was at a San Francisco radio
station. That CD also has the KROQ/Rodney Bingenheimer interview....with Noel

Yes I have that one too. In fact I just listened to it the other night. I felt like
hearing an Oasis interview and remembered that one was funny. I got them a long
time ago. Noel and Bonehead were so funny, Noel isn't too funny in interviews
anymore is he? It was funny in the interview when Noel said the thing about
vegetarism is 'how can you eat anything that doesn't have a face' then he said
waiter I can't eat this it's paranoid, then he said this steak is a Liar You're a
LIAR!! Haha I guess you just have to hear 'him' say it.

Yes it is for real, cuz I have it. It's on the interview CD called 'Getting
High' the interview took place when Blur had released the album 'Parklife' and
Oasis with 'Definitely Maybe' So at that time there wasn't really a big feud
going on, but they weren't exactly friends either. On the radio show the host
said that we should play a Blur song and Liam was like can I pick it, I want to
pick the song. Something like that and he chose 'The Debt Collector' I think.
Liam liked the song, I guess. If no one out there is able to make an mp3 of the
interview at the last resort I could do it. But see I never have before, but I'm
getting a new comp. tomorrow and will have access to being able to. You'll have
to be patient.

No where can I hear those? BTW last night I went to listen to some danish
radio show in Copenhagen and you danes have got to have the coolest
language...I'm jealous. It's a scary sounding language, but sounds very
cool, just me. :o) Also I went to hear some music from Tokyo and they played

They are on this FTP server : 24.112.15.195 login and password =
weezer

and you should allso be abel to download them from :

Just don't download the song called 'My Brain' (or 'Out Of My Way'),

Ps : Why do you listen to danish and japanese radio!? I meen, if I
didn't understand danish, I wouldn't listen to it (like I never listen
to German or Swedish radio)... ;-)

I don't know. But I was sending it to someone and it was taking ages to
send, so I had to quit. I mean it said that it sent the message and it was
in the sent box, but then later on I noticed that the e-mail was still
sending. Anyways I listened to the mp3 in the sent box and it was the Oasis
interview, just fine. Maybe I should ask her if she received it okay.

How do you know how big it is? It just says the length of the interview,
argh I miss Netscape, this outlook express is so confusing. That has nothing
to do with what I just said, sorry.

So many new things at once, okay maybe one day I'll go there.

Yeah uh I guess it was that one. Well you gotta understand that I just got a
new comp. yesterday and my old one didn't have sound. But the comp. came
with this radio thing and you type in a country and it brings up a list of
radio stations. I have a lot of danish friends and I like Gangway, Lars
H.U.G., psyched up Janis, Kliche, Superheroes...But I'm american Anways I
wanted to see what was going on in Denmark, music wise as I really like the
language and those bands.

Yes, that would be nice, they don't offer danish over here. :o(

I'll send it to you.

There are a lot of good bands out there that I still haven't discovered yet.
I also love it when a band sings in a language besides english. I guess no
one can understand that.

If you use WinAmp, it'll show you the sampelrate, kbps and if its mono
or stereo when you play the mp3.

What computer are you useing? Windows-PC or Mac?

If you are useing windows, then right click on [Start], and choose
[Explore] (or something...), then find your MP3 and right click on it
and choose the last option (properties ??), then you should be abel to
see it's size.

If you are using a Mac, hmm....well... try to click and hold down on
the file, if this brings up a menu, try to click on something that
might tell you something about the file ;o) (note, last time I used a
Mac is about ½ a year ago, I used it for 10min., and I was drunk...
;o)

I think it's out by the end of this year, but no one knows....

ok, the latest news is that Sune Wagner (who was the singer /
songwriter / guitarist in PUJ) has made a tune with a someone called
'Shanks.dk', it's very different form any of the PUJ things, so if you
happen to hear a tune called 'Assassin Star', it's actually the guy
from PUJ who's singing...

The Beatles producer George Martin is quoted on one of the Oasis fan
sites as saying that he considers Noel Gallagher the best songwriter of
his generation.I don't know where they got this quote and I wonder if he
said it.It's a mighty fine compliment if he did say it!
Does anyone know anything about this?

well, I don't really know all at all at all, but I know for sure
that
Robbie Williams' doesn't count as "opinion" in my world,
and that's why I put it in quotes, cos his opinion is
meanignless, he used his friendship to Oasis as publicity
stunt to relaunch his image as the wild boy of Take That,
and they were good willed and naive enough to let him do
that and invite him on stage at Glasto and consacrate him.
which I'm sure they regretted immediately the day after,
waking up with a bad hangover and a dry mouth.

So he sings different? I think he sounds very similar to The Flaming Lips or
Mercury Rev.:) But I haven't heard much
PUJ:( Tell me about Lars H.U.G....how come I can't find any mp3's on
him...do you know where I can? He should be a legend in Denmark right?
hehe....he's cool. I just like him because I enjoy my 'okay okay boys' album
very much. And the other Kliche songs from Supertanker.

has given me the links to some but they never work.

Haha...your language is kinda scary. I was listening to a danish station
again...btw they play very bad music it's identical to the U.S radio
stations..identical. They did play 'Don't look back in Anger' Anyways on the
station they had a commercial for something and the guy was talking really
scary...like a vampire advertising for the Spook fest or something like that
and you know just talking normal is scary, but to add a scary tone to the
voice is really scary. LOL Sorry, but I like this language..I wanna talk
like that. Oh the other night I could catch a lot of danish stations, but
now I can only catch 'The Voice' :o( do you know of any websites of danish
stations that actually play music sung in danish or by danish bands?

> >> ..ok... do you have a url for this japanese station?

Okay yeah hold on...I have to look it up.
http://www.happygolucky.co.jp/ariyoshi/ you know what I think I might have
just clicked into a song instead of a radio station, so you should be able
to find it on this site. Bye, bye!

I might not be at much help, 'cos i only listen to two radio
stations.. Denmarks Radio Program 3 ( DR P3), and BBC Radio 1.

You can listen to DR P3 here : http://www.dr.dk/p3/lyt.htm
(and click on you connection type / program at the right).

Haha you pretty much got it all. This CD didn't even mention anything about
the interviews. 'Getting High²' was the name of the CD and it was two CD's
with, I think two interviews on disc one and three on disc two, it also came
with a list of Discography and as the CD put it a 2300 word biography. The
CD was made in 1997 by some company called 'The Network'.Like I said it
didn't mentioned the year of the interviews or any information at all about
them, sorry. But you can pretty much figure it out by listening to it that
it was broadcast in America on a radio station in San Francisco around 1994.
When both Parklife and DM were out. There is also another two CD interview
thingy by the same company called 'Sally Can Wait' which has about four or
five more interviews on it...I can't remember. I have that one as well and
it is set up the same way, comes with the same 2300 biography ect. but of
course different interviews. That's all I know sorry.
