Aging rock god Jon Bon Jovi has labelled Oasis brothers Noel and Liam
Gallagher 'spoilt brats' and told them to grow-up.
Jovi, whose band will become the last to play Wembley Stadium this weekend,
lambasted Noel and Liam for the breakdown in their relationship, which has
seen the band hanging on for dear life...

He said: 'The press should not pay any attention to them. Take it away and
see how quickly they go into a room and make-up. Tell them nobody cared
anymore, go play the pub, you-re done - just watch what happens.'
'Then you realise they're just being spoilt brats. They're two talented guys
and I buy their records. But someone needs to tell them to get in a room and
pretend for a moment that none of this existed'
Jovi concluded: 'What would they do, pump gas?'"
exactly how do you "play the pub"?

This all started because Noel said that Oasis at Wembley was the last
good gig being played before the stadium gets knocked down, I guess
Jon Bon took offense, bearing in mind Bon Jovi are the last band to
play there.

Not to defend Bon Jovi, but he's hardly worshipped (anymore) in NJ.

What's so 'Great' about it?
I can see your point, but music is universal and you can't really
imply that bands are only good if they come from a certain Country or
Nation.
I agree that the UK and Europe as a whole now have their own bands and
there's no need to depend on big shot American corp bands like there
was back in the early 90s, but its worth mentioning that are UK bands
are mostly shit and arent anything to brag about, and they don't sell
any records in the States, in the same way American bands sell in the
USA but not in Europe. For example, Metallica were huge here back in
the early 90s, but today nobody in the UK has any idea who they are,
they could walk down any street and no one would take the slightest
notice. However they still sell millions of records in the States.
But its good to know that US bands now find it just as hard to break
into the UK market (even with all there money to back them) as UK
bands find it to break into the US market, unless your bands called
Bush. :)
One more thing, I think the Bon Jovi concert is sold out.

If Oasis ever want sell as many records as Bon
Jovi then Jon is right, they do need to stop
arguing and focus on their music and live shows.
Plus dotmusic sucks, Jon is hardly ageing, he's a
few months into 38. Man I hope I don't feel old
at 38 when I get there.

oi! have a bit of pity for poor jon. one day you're wild and crazy-the next,
you're a boring old fart. it's just the way it goes-sadly, it'll probably
happen to Liam some day and it sometimes appears it's already started with
Noel...it's gonna happen to you...i don't remember when i changed from a
glorious mad babe into someone's favorite auntie-but the babe is still
inside me, just hidden by the old fart exterior. of course i'm sure you're
correct about the tosh parts! ;)

No need to feel down, even 50 can still be fun (and a late happy
birthday).

aww, thanks! :) surely you're not 50?! i wondered about your age but
certainly never guessed that, especially based on your tales of all your
travels with your daughter this year! :) i'm actually looking forward to my
40's-i've got so much great stuff going on in my life now and i can actually
afford to enjoy it all for a change. i suspect 50 might be a bitter pill for
me to swallow but i've been reading tons of articles about how women are
finding life just gets better and better as they age so i'm hopeful...a
rousing cheer for all us older gals on amo! :D

I think both bands rock actually and Oasis can put on cracking shows
assuming they don't walk off stage or cancel and I'm in the fortunate
position of having seen both bands.
Its not about who's the best band and I don't for one minute expect to
win that argument in this particular newsgroup. Bon Jovi have long
since proved they are critic (and finally NME) proof judging by the
concert review:
http://www.nme.com/reviews/reviews/20000821163744.html
I really hope Oasis hang around as long as Bon Jovi and become just as
successful, its good quality music and entertainment that ultimately
stands the test of time. And hey I know you are all Oasis fans here but
it is okay to like other bands you know.
Rock n Roll Rules!!

I turned 50 in the first few days of the year, and I don't mind my age
a bit. Quite in contrary, I enjoy life more and more, and I do not
envy the young ones at all.
When I see all the problems and doubts my daughter and her friends
(all about 17/18) have, I would not like to be there once again. I
still can remember how this age felt..
It is definitely getting better !
And at least here in Germany OASIS have even older fans. When we went
to Cologne - which was the first OASIS gig we went-, I had my doubts,
what people would think about someone my age in th concert. But I was
by far not the oldest one there, I saw several people at least 10 to
15 years senior to me. So you are quite a "young" fan:-)

I don't know where you're going with this mate? it's got nothing to do
with British bands being better than American bands, that's
ridiculous... It's got to do with respect.
>Jon Bon Jovi is past it it and has probably sold sod all tickets for Wembley
>because everyone went to see Oasis. He should stick to what he's best
>at..... acting!
er..... No.. They sold out the first gig on the 19th months ago. They
had to add a second date because of the demand, same thing happened in
95 when they played Wembley (for which the video 'Live In London' was
filmed)
>When I was a kid, everyone was into American bands like Bon Jovi etc, but

????? Liam?
Bon Jovi never claimed that artistic content was important in their
song writing... If you knew anything about the band, you would know
right from the beginnning they were a 'live' band out to entertain.
Although they're both 'rock n roll' bands they're both different.
Jovi's haydays have probably passed, although there is noticable
shifting in their lyrics towards political affairs through their
albums.
>>they abolutely rule live.
>
>Hahahahaha(cough cough) Hahahahaha
LOL.. Bon Jovi could put on a better show in their sleep. End of
argument. I've seen 15 yr olds sneaking their way into the local pub
putting on better shows. Oasis's music is good, their first album was
excellent and was a welcome breath of fresh air.. but when it comes to
putting on gigs, without the production behind them they'd be
absolutely boring... btw BJ sold out 2 gigs at Wembley last weekend.
And all band members stayed on stage for the duration of both
concerts, pretty good huh?..
