Today's thriving alternative music scene is a thing of beauty. A giant
percentage of what we now listen to has been influenced by grunge
music and, in particular, Nirvana. I know I am when I write stuff with
my band - it's hard not to.

I went to the UK's Download Festival for the first time in 15 years
this year (it was known as Monsters Of Rock back then) and I heard the
most glorious aural assault. One thing I can quite confidently state
is that Grunge is alive and kicking today. The staccato drums, the
brooding lead vocalists, the furious instability of the solos and the
driving unstoppable basslines.

Please check out my review of the festival -

Then go away and bury yourself in all those bands latest albums -
Reuben, Killswitch, Wolfmother, Biffy Clyro, etc. You'll realise, if
you haven't already, that Nirvana's legacy lives on and on.

New bands are horrible. Honesty is all but gone in music. You can't fire
me because I quit.
