What's on it that isn't on the short version?
Is it available on VHS tape or only laserdisc
Many thanks in advance

Yes, there is a 140-minute version of the Story, which, I believe, is
only available everywhere else but the U.S. Believe me when I say that
it is much better than the edited version that was released in the US.
Fuckin' Americans...they always have to edit everything. Anyways, I got
my copy by ordering it over the phone from HMV Canada for like $25.00 or
something like that....

Nothing. They slow the frame rate by one half.

The only VHS version commercially available (I know of) is the 30 min
version. The US laserdisc version is about 60 min. And the JP laser
disc version is a bit longer.

US VHS version is 60 minutes.
US laserdisc version is 120 minutes.

I've bought my copy of "New Order story" at HMV in Montreal Canada and
it's, as said on the cover, approximately 140 minutes long. Is this the
long version everyone's talking about?
Frederic.

Hopefully, most people will know that this is not true. The US VHS is
60min long and the laserdisc 120min long. The Japanese LD version is just
as long as the Canadian VHS (viewable in US VCR -- NTSC format) and the
UK/Europe version (not viewable in the US -- PAL/SECAM format): all of
them 140min.
The US laserdisc is not a bad edit of the 140min version. The cover was
slightly modified as well, with the letters getting a Terminator2 metal
feel to them.

Actually, both the 60 and 140min VHS versions have the same content. The
only difference is that the 140 min version is simply a 60 minute version
where the tape has been physically stretched by the inspectors from Fruit
of the Loom. Following the advice of Rob Gretton, the members of NewOrder
own a share of the Fruit of the Loom company, although after the Hacienda
and Dry experiences, they won't admit it. In fact, my copy has been
personally inspected by Barney himself, who happens to be Inspector #67.
Or maybe not.
I think there are 3 versions of NewOrderStory:
60 min -- US VHS
120 min -- US Laserdisc
140 min -- everything else... including Canadian and UK VHS and Japanese
Laserdisc
The US VHS has a few things that the 140 min version does not have...
the Regret video, a bit of a live World video, and the Technique videos.
140 min version has lotsa stuff missing from the US VHS version,
including the Baywatch/TOTP Regret performance, live performances of
Temptation and Everyone Everywhere, some of the older videos, and more
interview footage.
The 120 min version is missing either the live Temptation or Everyone
Everywhere (I can't remember which).

I apolgize for my msg regarding the duration time. It is incorrect (as
some have pointed out). It has been a long time since I watched them.
