i have an mp3 file but its huge....

Hi all

I've created an mp3 of my own music but its huge. Its 8meg. All my
other mp3's are smaller but i used a different program on this song.

Is there any way I can make this smaller even though its already been
created as mp3?

Yeah, you can lower the bitrate. Grab the following program:

http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

Just follow the directions to lower the bitrate to something like 128. I
wouldn't go any lower than that.

If you still have the original recording which you turned into an MP3, use that to make the new MP3.

Making an MP3 from another MP3 will result in a loss of sound quality.

Obviously you are going to lose sound quality when you lower the bitrate but, when you're dealing with mp3s,  does it really matter? I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Sure it matters. A well-made MP3 can easily be transparent. Of course
the chances of doing so when reencoding are less.

Well, 56kbps is very low for MP3. You have bad hearing - be thankful for
that. ;)
