hi all, sorry about the cross-post.

i have a machine in a bedroom and one in a living room. i'm looking for a
way to control what plays in the living room from the bedroom. i don't care
if it's remote control (remote network control of winamp sucks from what
i've seen), streaming, or what.

any suggestions of how to do this effectively?

get an infra-red remote reciever in the room of your choice. connect it to
an ethernet or wireless system. plug in your pc's and your in like flynn. go
see those circut city retards and tell them what you want.

Just install winamp on the second machine and set up your music folder as a
mapped drive on your second computer. Then you just play music from the
other computer on your own computer, through its own winamp, its like an
extra hard drive on your second machine, full of music, just use it as you
would any other hard drive. I am assuming you have a network set up, cause
if you don't well I don't know how in the hell to do it then.
