Nero may possibly have changed their decoder since this test was
conducted but it is still an interesting site.

(Their original conclusion was, incidentally, that for the highest
possible quality you should indeed decode to wav first and then burn the
wav when using Nero, although the errors they found were very small and
in the extreme range of hearing, for all practical purposes inaudible.)

No. Feurio is made by Fangmeier, and Nero by Ahead, although they can be
bougth in the same web.
You can search old posts by Jens Fangmeier in dejanews.com explaining that
Feurio uses a decoder based on Fraunhoffer decoder. Ahead uses a Fraunhoffer
Encoder, but not a Fraunhoffer decoder.
Also, Feurio can detect errors on defective MP3s and say their position.
Nero can't.

I would not necessarily trust that report now - it is based on quite an old
Nero version.

Is there any evidence to think that they have solved the bug?

We have seen reports this year in this group of people complaining that MP3s
burned with Nero sound worse than MP3 decoded to WAV before with another
program.
I don't believe that they have solved it.

Feurio is distributed by Ahead, but, fortunately, not made by Ahead.
