Sorry, I don't, but I saw them (including the Beach Boys) up at Alpine
Valley in Burlington Wisconsin. That was the first of many Moodies
concerts I'd attend.....man what a show!

I haven't been paying attention, so forgive me if I restate something
already mentioned. The Moody Blues toured in 1986 with the Fixx as a warm
up. It was horrible. I saw them in Hartford, Connecticut where I was
working on air at a station in town. The crowd was the usual Moody mix of
suits and 14 year old hippie wanna-be's.

The Fixx came on. Remember this was the bad old days of Ronny Reagan and
the Evil Empire. The lead singer spent most of his time saying, "Your $#@
President wants to blow up the world", and "Your %$$# government..." after
about the third song, we were all stomping our feet chanting "Moodies". It
worked, the Fixx left the stage about 8 songs shy of their set. Good
riddance. I didn't like RR much, but dammit, you don't come to my house and
tell how ghastly the carpet that I want to get rid of is.

Finally, bliss and a good show.

Special note to that particular show: The Moodies finished and bowed to a
standing O. Everyone ran off stage left, except for John, who went stage
right. It look like he almost tripped as well. We stomped, cheered, and
lit our lighters (fire code be damned.) Finally the guys showed up on stage
to Graemes drums on "Ride My See-Saw" (that was their encore for years.)
But John was nowhere in sight. He had gone the wrong way and gotten lost
backstage. I seem to remember him running in and taking his place within
the first verse. I also remember that they left Graeme drumming a little
bit longer than normal at the beginning. They were waiting to see what
would happen.

Then next I saw them was later that year, fall, as they swung back through
Tanglewood, MA. They had 'Till Tuesday with them. It was obvious that TT
was a club band because they sounded great live. That was an excellent
show. By the way, I saw a 14 year old wanna be waving his hands in the air
as another played a flute on the grass behind him. Many of the 40 year olds
just smiled and shook their heads. I'm hoping that the 25 year old that he
is today isn't too embarrassed.
