He was an extra in the 2nd Scooby series THE SCOOBY DOO SHOW. I think you
would have to listen close. Although you can't miss Davy Jones in The New
Scooby Doo Movies on Cartoon Network.

I am afraid you are mistaken, I have listings for several of the Scooby
Doo cartoon shows, ("Scooby and Scrappy-Doo", "The Scooby and
Scrappy-Doo/Puppy Hour", "The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour", "Scooby-Doo
Where Are You?", and "Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics").
I can find no reference to Micky in these credits.

The regular characters voices were provided by...
Scooby-Doo: Don Messick
Scrappy-Doo: Lennie Weinrib
Freddy: Frank Welker
Daphne: Heather North
Shaggy: Casey Kasem
Velma: Nichole Jaffe, Pat Stevens

However, Mickey Dolenz did do voices in the following cartoons...

"Butch Cassidy and the Sun Dance Kids": Micky Dolenz did the voice of
Harvey. (Hanna Barbera, Sept 8, 1973-Aug 31 1974)

"The Funky Phantom": Micky Dolenz did the voice of Skip. (Hanna-Barbera,
Sept 11, 1971-Sept 1, 1972)

"The Skatebirds": Micky was the voices of both Wonder Wheels and Willie
Sheeler. (Hanna-Barbera, Sept 10, 1977-Jan 21, 1978 REBROADCAST in
79-89 and 80-81)

"These are the Days": Micky Dolenz is listed as an "Additional Voice"
(not a main character) in this cartoon. (Hanna-Barbera, Sept 7,
1974-Sept 5, 1976)

> jb...@earthlink.netjeff,

sorry. i used to work at hanna-babera mickey worked on the scooby-doo, i can't remember
what season. it's called the new scooby doo mysteries, i think. it's the season where
shaggy and scooby are being chased by a shark in the opening title sequence. his name
is right there in the credits where they list voices. the very first one in the second
column. he also did the scooby doo movies. (if you haven't guessed scooby is also my
favorite cartoon). i believe that he actually did scooby at this point, but i can't
confirm this. don messick however, was the original scooby doo and returned doing it
after mickey, or whoever else was doing it also. listen carefully, to the different the
scooby doo movies and the scooby doo where are you? episodes and you can tell that 2
different people are scooby. BTW, this means that when davy was a guest star on scooby,
mickey also was working on the same episode.
i also remember in 1986, when my friends met mickey, they asked him to do a scooby
imiataion. that's when i first learned mickey was ever invloved with scooby. they
insist he was scooby and i think he was too. but like i said it hasn't been confirmed.
(and now that h-b is part of warner bros. it's harder to get info from them). since i
work in animation, i'll try to dig a little deeper. the casting director for zorro is
the same for the tick. she should know. i'll try to remember to ask her.

as for who wrote, the song. funny, i thought the same thing and started looking into it
and then got busy with life and forgot about it.

Actually, I believe Micky did the voice of the title character in THE
FUNKY PHANTOM, which was a Scooby Doo spin-off.

Hey there...
I know Micky did a voice in the Scooby Doo episode with "Old Ironface",
where they go to that haunted prison island ala Alcatraz.

yes, I can "prove" that Micky Dolenz at one point did a voice on Scooby
Doo.
WCIU (Channel 26) had a six-hour Scooby-Doo marathon today--
I taped it--
and on the one episode, where the credits have a blue background with
white writing (Scooby is on the left of the screen pointing a thumb over
his shoulder at the names) it clearly says "Micky Dolenz" as the second
name in the one column.
He was not a voice in the original episodes (the 1970s ones, with the
funky theme), nor in the guest star ones from 1972 (at least, he was not
listed in the credits for the episodes "starring" Batman & Robin, the
Addams family, Don Knotts, or even the one with Davy Jones). I can't make
out a date on the credits where his name IS listed, but I will apply
myself dilligently to try and find out!!

Keep Monkeein' Around,
Melissa

BTW--anyone who gets WCIU--Scooby Doo is on at 2:30 p.m. every weekday.
You mightr want to try to catch a show with the "blue background credits"
to check it out yourself!

If I remember right, Micky did the voice of the 2 teenaged guys and maybe the cat. I think the Funky Phantom himself was the same guy who did the voice of Snagglepuss (don't recall his name).
