New album by Davy

on Facebook that Davy has recording tracks for a new album, being
produced by Ron Dante (yes, that Ron Dante, voice of the Archies, but
also producer for Barry Manilow, Cher, Pat Benatar and dozens of
others). Anybody in the Davy camp have any word about this?

I don't think Davy's on Facebook - but Ron Dante is, and he's posted
several times about being in the studio with Davy. Here's his most

Dick Clark syndrome. Ron is pretty active right now on Facebook and
Twitter - and has talked quite a bit about working in the studio with
Davy as well as working on a duet single with Freddy "Palisades Park"
Cannon. Ron is such a good producer that I'll be interested in what
he comes up with for Davy.

You do know that Ron sang the biggest hit of 1969, don't you? A
little thing called "Sugar, Sugar?" Yes, Ron Dante was the voice of
"The Archies." (And no, Don Kirshner never offered the song to the
Monkees, despite what Davy has said. Andy Kim & Jeff Barry, the
writers, did not create the song until 1968, long after the Monkees
had fired Kirshner.) So since he sang the biggest hit record of 40
years ago, he is DEFINITELY over 40 ;-)
