Well, I think it's time to come clean. Although Sarah accused Linda on
this ng of being Davy's Mailbox , and on her own list she flip flopped
and told her members it was Renee, she was wrong, as always, about who
is who.
It's only me, Therra. I just had to... make fun of some of the
stupidity I was reading here. Actually for a normal fan it might be
kind of cute, taking photos of a mail box but it's kind of nutty in
this case. I wanted to inject some levity into what I saw as a real
doom and gloom time on AMM. Please know I was not making fun of the
average, starry-eyed Davy fan. I am one, myself.
I will say I greatly appreciated those of you who participated in the
fun and who wrote to , and chided, "Davy's Mailbox". Many of you
were downright hilarious. I LOVED it. You were great. I am dying to
know who House is. Will you 'fess up? You are perfectly delightful.
And Telephone? Want to speak up?
I just come around here on occasion to see the people I like, Gap and
Allie and Daye and Estrella and the other "sanies" as opposed to the
zanies. I don't hang much since the ng got ruined by the bad element.
Thanks everyone, for the last few days. You made it fun
xxoo,
Therra ( formerly...well, you know)

Good for you Therra!!!! I just mentioned that the mailbox was a riot!!!

The simple matter of the fact is that you cann't handle the truth! Laura

((((Therra)))) How are you doing, you silly goose!!? Your
antics as Davy's mailbox was hilarious, I laughed my butt off.
Now I have to find a way to put it back on!! I haven't read anything
that funny on here for a long, long time. :)

Awww, feel welcome to drag yourself over here anytime
when you feel you can handle the baddies!! With all the identities,
I have on killfile, it feels like a nuclear winter on a.m.m.
I'm just keeping a vigil in hope conditions might get better. *shrug*

good).

LOLOLOL!! You could make a lot of money doing that. Some people
would pay to watch. I personally would pay to have mine hauled away
and replaced with a size 5.

I was really missing some people during this romp....like d3 and Mark
The Shark, Donna, Lucy and others who, no doubt, would have added a
spark or two. Truly, I was SO happy to see you and Daye and Allie join
in - and a few people I didn't know ( like Tunzter and The Other One)
who obviously "got" it. Samantha was funny at baiting the objects (
and baiting Sarah) and some of her posts provided ideas. I giggled
when people started to take sides with either house or box.
Keep up the good vigil, Estrella. You are a stronger, wiser woman than
I.
( But we knew that)

Ah... the point has been made - yet again! For Pete's Sake!! This
was fun, a really great laugh, except for those same old assholes that
have to trash everything in their path! GO AWAY!! Some of us like
the humor, know how to laugh, and how to play along. Some don't, but
seriously need to learn. Just don't do it on my time. It's short
enough as it is.

I feel sorry for anyone that is so insecure that you have to make others look
bad to make themselves feel good. She was behind that joke and that is that.
You didn't see the evidence or recieve the phone calls, so shut up.

i couldn't agree more therra, i was loving it when ppl starting getting it
and playing along.
i thought i was gonna die when sarah actually answered the box and house
tho. "i didn't go ON the lawn!" "i didn't touch the box, i only crouched
in front of it!" that was classic, flew right over her head.

I'll email you a day or two after I get back...

I'm glad you said that, Jan. I thought I saw shades of Mark the Shark's

No, I didn't contribute to this one, but I read it all, and it was great. All
of you did a great job! I've just been occasionally lurking lately. Though I
thought about jumping in. But you did a fine job, it was hilarious!
And thanks for the compliments. That really touched me.

Fuck. Here we go again. They were having such a good time, some really classy
humor was being created and...well, forget it.
Thanks Therra, MTG ..for the laughs.. I haven't laughed reading AMM in....

I knew you were out there in the shadows, Shark. I even think you might

Why don't you post a review? You could do it here, on the mailing
lists, the Monkeeland board, and your own web site. <veg> Just a
suggestion.

As someone who has done some work with those who need therapy in the
past, would you say that usually fanatics lack a sense of humour, esp.
when it comes to the object of their obsession? I haven't read any
studies of such, but it's my humble observation that quite often
fanatics do seemingly lack a sense of humor. If you can point me to
any articles that might back up this idea, I would certainly be
grateful. Or if you know any studies of such.
Thanks,
Deidre
I would...except that I find them boring to read, so I can only imagine how
boring it would be to write one...

Thank you, Ruthie. It was really fun. At this point, I needed to laugh
too. This group, as a whole, are really a lively, entertaining lot.
Many different personalities, for sure, but some really creative and
thoughtful types. You know who you are!
Therra
anyone else with some thoughts?
Thanks for the insight and the web site search engine. A good friend
long ago came up with a name for these type of fans, after observing
Star Trek fandom for a few years. She calls them "single-interest
fans", and they can be found in any hobby or interest group, from dog
shows to Monday morning quarterbacks. She noted the total devotion to
the one and only hobby, and the upset that ensued when anyone dared to
make a joke about the interest or the obsession of that particular
fan. I'm always reminded that the dictionary shows that "fan" is,
after all, a backformation of the word "fanatic".
