I was both saddened and shocked when I heard it announced on TV.
I saw Davy twice, in '86 on the reunion tour and in 2002 at a local
mall, signing copies of his book.
He takes my back to an incredibly joyous time in my childhood. It was
The Monkees who turned me on to Rock & Roll in the Fall of '66.

I've always felt that as long as they were all alive that the Monkees
never really left us. Now I feel that the others will just be three
individual guys.

And many were hoping the four might get together once more for the 50th
Anniversary. That's not gonna happen now. :-(
Sad to see our music heroes go. At least he outlived many of them.

Trevor.

I saw the Monkees (Davy, Micky, and Peter) in 2001 in San Francisco and the
Sounds of the Monkees (Davy and Micky) in 2002, also in San Francisco. I
was hoping I might get to see them again. Ah, well.
