Hi-
I'm looking for a copy of Blue Ribbon Soundworks' Superjam!, for
Windows, preferably version 2.0. I used the program on an Amiga for
years; now that I am a Windows user I would like to run the program on
my pc. I know that Blue Ribbon ported the program to run on Windows,
just before they went out of business. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Yes, I would also like this information. I too was an Amiga user and used
SuperJAM! on my system. But I finally moved to a Pentium system last Fall.

I would also like to know what other software exists for Windows that helps
the user create music as SuperJAM! and DoRemix (sold by Edirol) does.

Thanks

Blue Ribbon SoundWorks, the original makers of Super Jam! did not simply
go out of business -- they were bought by MicroSoft. What came of that
purchase? Well, see
http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/press/1998/May98/DirectPR.htm for the
DirectX 6.0 press release that includes info on Direct Music. Pay
particular attention to the description of the Interactive Music
Composition stuff. As far as I know, you can't go out and purchase a
copy of Super Jam! any longer.

There are Windows Apps like Band-in-a-Box (from PGM music), Jammer, and
Yamaha's Visual Arranger which all have various levels of support for
helping you compose.

My group at IBM Research's Computer Music Center is working on a project
called "Music Sketcher." Music Sketcher is not ready-for-prime-time as
a complete composition application, but it is a cool program which has
interesting compositional capabilities. We are making it freely
available so that interested parties can use it and let us know what
they think. If you want to download it play with it and possibly send
us some feedback, give it a shot at
www.alphaworks.ibm.com/formula/musicsketcher.

Hi Steve
I still have Superjam 2 and still use it, but can only run on Windows XP. , or earlier .
so after composing a melody I save all track separately,
as a midi, then open the midi's with SONY ACID and change any of the midi into real audio ,
I have written hundreds of instrumentals this way Superjam 2 can do so much more.
