I need to setup a Shadow midi pickup to a guitar in order to control a Korg
Triton and have been told that I should use all unwound strings and not to
bother with tuning the guitar. Is this true?

No, The Shadow (I'm assuming this is an 075) is a pitch detection system, so the guitar needs to be tuned.
As for unwound strings there is certainly no mention of this in the Shadow 075 handbook!
I would not trust any advice from whoever told you this.

Hi all, I've just bought a guitar with Midiaxe fitted and I'm trying to find out anything I can about it - the previous owner didn't use this part of the guitar - if anyone has any info, I'd be grateful for any help.
