Cake Walk instruments won't work

First let me thank everyonr for comments on which program to use etc.
I have downloaded Cake Walk and am starting to use it. Using the Virtual keyboard I can make/save/recover recorded piano sounging tracks. When I try to load an instrument like a deum tract I get the following message "SI-Drum Kit is not properly installed". It goes on to tell me to reinstall the Kit from the CD. It behaves the same way with the virtual keyboard or my keyboard controller. I downloaded the program so there is no CD. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the program but no help.
During the setup I am asked to install the chrome browser, which I do not do.
Any thoughts on how to get out of this problem will be appreciated.
