I do not make one penny from it. I never have done. However, this is not
because I am some martyr. If the Fan Club were rich enough to pay the
people who work for it, it would do. But at the moment, all the funds
from the Fan Club are ploughed back into the Fan Club. Our magazine
costs thousands of pounds an issue to produce, and we want to maintain
the quality.
The President of the Fan Club draws a wage monthly. She (Gloria Haydock)
is the only person connected with the Fan Club who makes one penny from
it.
I don't particularly care if you don't believe me, but I am no liar. As
soon as the Fan Club DOES start paying me (maybe that day will come), I
will talk about it openly; I will have nothing to hide. I went into the
club in the knowledge it would not be for financial recompense; should
that come about in three, four years time (I can't see it being any
