Dotmusic is clueless. They've been asked several times to not use that
name and they don't listen. Most of the stuff they do is just reworded
from other news anyway.

I accidentally replied privately instead of to the group, but the gist of my reply was that Celine Dion's albums have been massive sellers in the US, she doesn't wait 5 years between recording them, she doesn't spend millions in studio time and she has a pristine image.
 
When Sony says premier artist, they are talking about money.
what a load of crud.....if that's true why does everybody snigger and anseer and/or GROAN at the though of hearing another Celine Dion song? they're totally overplayed LOUSY songs that wouldn't have reched any higher on the charts than 50 if it hadn't been in the movie Titanic! it's pathetic......ppl  might like the song for the first COUPLE times it's played but when they play it about 50 million times a day it's RIDICULOUS>...now.....if it was an MJ song......we might be able to stand it.ubt her awful screeching voice......argh.it just annoys the heck outta EVERYONE I know...even for my mates that are NOT MJ fans by ANY means when asked prefer to hear MJ than Celine......I don't know HOW they can even THINK that! What a load of BULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much for the companies FAITH in Mike!

She is connected.  She handles the mailing lists for dotmusic.  She doesn't write the articles though.

exactly.......I mean....look at that stupid marriage she had......she like...had a semi normal ceremony (for a celebrity anyway) to start with.but for the "fans" they went and did this stupid thing where they were on their own old greek royalty lounge kinda things with people carrying them aprawled out on their lounges and had elephants and stuff there...this was for the reception or something.....was so weird and stupid.........who does she think she is? the Queen of Sheba?

ok, i'll give ya that.....but the USA is merely 1 little country amongst a group of MANY MANY countries......and at TIMES she may be popular in the USA>....but that doesn't mean she is anywhere else where it counts.....see...home turf is one thing.ppl are pretyt much always gonna love ya there cos that's where your from and ppl like to see their countrymen succeed in things......but...sure she may sell however many copies in the USA......but if that's still only sales from one country...she wouldn't sell HALF as much stuff worldwide....whereas with Michael he prety much sells just as well, if not BETTER throughout the rest of the world......which I think is partially to do with why he's not touring there aymore.or hadn't anyway....and why he never released Ghosts and stuff there.......he realises there's more than 1 country in the world....and they deserve to have things and a say in things aswell.....i'm not sayin Celine doesn't.maybe she does...I dunno....but.....yeah.....Mike sells a lot more worldwide than what Celine or ANYONE else on Sony would....I didn't mean to get that harsh judging her.it's Sony...the way THEY are judging ppl that annoy me......they KNOW Michael is the biggest seller and most popular artist.why would he have gotton artist of the milennium otherwise? Why didn't Celine get the women's 1 instead of Mariah if she's so brilliant? There's just no way that they could say that and it be true......did you read tha post someone sent awhlie back showing how many sales of his solo albums Mike has sold within a year? the past year.including Off The Wall and everything.I don't think ANYONE would be able to sell so many copies of those albums so many yrs after they'd been released if that person had nothing going for them......it's just ridiculous the whole thing!
