I would like informations about Takeuchi mfg, maker of Mateki flutes,
and an appreciation of the instrument by flautists.

Thanks

I have heard wonderful things about Mateki flutes, for low professional or
serious students. If you plan on keeping a flute forever, I would suggest
you take a look at the old stand bys, such as Haynes, Powell, Brannen, and
Yamaha.

Mateki flutes are made by a SMALL company and are virtually handmade.
ALL the headjoints are hand made by the same man, although they do not
advertise this. Do not look on them as a student range. The higher
end ones are in use by many professionals

What's Yamaha doing on that list? Yamaha flutes are little twigs which
play easily but have no color whatsoever. Julius Baker is a salesman
for them but almost never actually performs on them.

I too am looking for historical information on the Takeuchi Flute Mfg. I have their Model 01 number 1236. It is beautiful, much better than I am, and I would like to know more about Mr. Takeuchi and his work. I know he was working for Mr. Watanabe, but i haven't found out anything about Takeuchi Flute Mfg. I do know that because of its age, it requires careful maintenance, but its clarity of tone and liveness is not matched by many others.

Well, that makes 3 of us. I also have a model mo-001 flute. I contacted mateki to ask about the history of it and to my astonishment they did not have any record of the flute. The reason for this was that the maker of the flute, mr takeuchi, left the company and is now also deceased. See the emails i received below.

Dear Acikgoz,

Real flutemaker of your flute is Mr. Takeuchi. To sorry, there is no record when your flute was made. I have no communication with him for years. I have no information about him.Dear Acikgoz,
