Does anyone know the best way to connect a wah pedal to a fender Rhodes
suitcase 73. That preamp cable is a non standard 5-pin. What should I do?

thanks

Hmmm...I don't think there is a way short of replacing the connectors. A
suitcase 73 does have and Auxillary out, and you could connect that to your
wah, and then the wah to a guitar amp. But the straight sound will come
from the built in speakers.

A few options you have here:

1) Run a 1/4" out from an insert jack -> the wah pedal -> a guitar/other
1/4" line-accepting amp. This is not a recommended option, since the
non-preamped signal from the Rhodes doesn't give the wah much to work
with.

1b) You could run the Rhodes insert into a guitar or other line input
preamp, then into the wah, then into an amp. This would give you a
"fatter" tone, and more wah to wah :)

2) Buy a preamp module that connects to the 5-pin output. I don't know
who makes them or where to get one (sorry) but my friend has one, and
you can run 1/4" outputs from it. Then just hook everything up like #1,
and you can still use the volumne/tone/viarato on the piano.

3) If you're only using the satellite speaker (the Rhodes cabinet the
piano sits on) the only thing you could do is hack the internal piano
preamp with some kind of effects loop. This is what I'm trying to do to
my 88 (I'll let you know if I have any luck!)

Basically, if your only amp is the satellite speakers, you can only run
the 5-pin input into it, unless you do some major electronic alterations
to the Rhodes preamp.

Okay -- hope this helps! (?)
