when it comes to labelling music with names I know pretty much what's what..
it's just I haven't really heard a proper definition of 'dub' music..
people use 'ambient dub' to describe bands like orb.. and the word 'dub' has
been used in reggae , as well as most other forms of dance music..
so what is it ?

When i see DUB in house/techno/dance music, its USUALLY an instrumental
version of the song. BUT with no LYRICS at all.. Just the beat. With
reggae, DUB is referred to songs that are REGGAE remixes of popluar songs.
Like the reggae version of Toni Braxton's "Breathe Again" or Whitney
Houstons Bodyguard theme song (i can't remember the name)
