I was curious to know the title of the song that Robert Shaw sings when
he, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider are out drinking on the boat in the
movie "Jaws." The lyrics go like this:

Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies
Farewell and adieu to you ladies of Spain
For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston
And so never more shall we see you again.

Is this an actual copyrighted song or is it just a sea chantey? If it's
an actual song, who wrote it, etc. Post here or e-mail me if you know!
Thanks!

Go take a look at the recently-moved Digital Tradition Folksongs
Database. It's at http://www.deltablues.com/folksearch.html

Run a query for "Spanish Ladies" and you'll find what you seek as the
fifth entry on the reply. Hey, you can even PLAY what I think is a wav
file!!
