This is how I remember it. I played for a while with a fellow who had
been Ernest Tubb's musical director and the fiddle player in his band.

WALTZ ACROSS TEXAS

When we dance together, my world's in disguise
It's a fairy tale dream that's come true
And when you look at me with those stars in your eyes
I could waltz across Texas with you.

CHORUS: Waltz across Texas with you in my arms
Waltz across Texas with you
Like a storybook ending, I'm lost in your charms
And I could waltz across Texas with you

My heartaches and troubles are all up and gone
The moment you come into view
And with you in my arms, dear, I could dance on and on
I could waltz across Texas with you

CHORUS

(There may be another verse; this is just how I remember it!)

WALTZ ACROSS TEXAS
- by Quannah Talmadge ("Billy") Tubb

When we waltz together my world's in disguise
A fairyland tale that's come true

And when you look at me with those stars in your eyes
I could waltz across Texas with you

I could waltz across Texas with you in my arms

Waltz across Texas with you

Like a story book ending I'm lost in your charms

I could waltz across Texas with you

My trouble and heartaches are all up and gone

The moment you come into view

And with your hand in mine I could dance on and on

I could waltz across Texas with you

Before I met you I never would dance
I never would dance, it's true
But now we're together I jumped at the chance
To waltz across Texas with you

To you, John Barger, we make this request
There's one thing we want you to do
Just sing one more verse of the song we love best
To waltz across Texas with you
