Hello, everyone.

Does anybody know lyrics to the song "Eldorado" by Nelson Riddle? It was
sund by George Alexander while opening credits in the movie with the
same title, starring John Wayne and Robert Mitchum. Besides, James Caan
hero in the picture recites lyrics ever now and then.

Thanks in advance.

That's not really a song but an old poem. If you search in poetry reference
guides, you may find it. Goes something like:

Gaily bedight, The gallant knight Over the mountains of the moon
In sunshine and in shadow Through the valley of the shadow

Travelled long, singing a song Ride, boldly ride
In search of El Dorado In search of El Dorado

Just vaguely remember it from school. Gaily bedight- dressed in fancy trimmings
El Dorado- fabeled city of gold in the New World sought by the Spanish

There's more to it. Just don't remember it all. Good luck!!

Actually, it is a song now. Donovan sings it on his recent album
"Sutras".
Absolutely stunning.
