"After midnight, we're gonna let it all hang down
After midnight, we're gonna chug-a-lug and shout"

I don't understand the meaning of the term "chug-a-lug"
in this song. Could anyone explain it to me ?

Greg,

I can't guaranty this, but it seems like an alcohol reference. After
midnight, they are going to be partying, which will included drinking a lot
of alcohol--chug-a-lugging it. Makes sense to me, anyway, and goes with the
theme of the song.

And you would be right! There was even a party board game named Chug-a-lug-
where the whole point of course was to get wasted and stoned..I remember
it fondly!:)
